Animaniacs & Pinky and The Brain DVD sets confirmed!

Yippy!
It's official!...DVD boxsets of Animaniacs and Pinky & The Brain have been confirmed:

Tvshowsondvd.com has announced that both Animaniacs and Pinky & the Brain are coming to DVD July 25.

Animaniacs is 5-disc set containing 25 episodes featuring the Warner Brothers (Yakko & Wakko) and their sister Dot. Along with Slappy Squirrel, the Goodfeathers, Rita & Runt, Buttons & Mindy, Chicken Boo, and of course Pinky & the Brain.

The box set also contains Animaniacs Live! in which Maurice LaMarche (The voice of the Brain) host an in-style interview show with some of the cast & crew. The DVD is sold for $44.98 SRP.

Pinky & the Brain is the Animaniacs spin-off about two lab mice from Acme Labs. One who's a mad genius, and the other is a few fries short of a happy meal. They escape the lab for one reason, trying to take over the world.

Their DVD box set is a 4-disc set containing 22 episodes of classic world dominating plans for $44.98 SRP. No word on extras as we speak.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I remember that Pink & The Brain spinoff, but didn't watch it much. Animaniacs, however... <3.

I await the Tiny Toons set as well. I miss these shows.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Animaniacs definately. Question, will the boxset contain the entire series or just a season at a time?

Is this like a set of the first season, or some "Greatest Episodes" kind of bullshit?

Dammit, why can't WB buy Fox so we can have sets of the X-Men animated series?

Animaniacs was truly ahead of its time. I just hope Warner Bros. doesn't decide to cut back on some of the raunchier humor.

"What did you say you were?"

"A pianist."

(gasp) "Goodnight everybody!"

"But that's what I am! A pianist!"

And my personal favorite.

(after Michaelangelo shows his plans for the Sistine Chapel)

"Ew, more naked people!"

"I wouldn't go flashing that around, Mike. This is a church."

I kind of wish they'd release seperate sets for each character. I'd buy a Goodfeathers boxset like that.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

This is good news for sure, but the true question is which 25 episodes will we receive? Most were decent but there were some that were just so over-the-top awesome that they simply can't be omitted. The protests would be deafening.

For example, the "Anvilania" episode needs to be included. Also, the one in which Otto Scratchensniff goes on a date with Helga and the Warners spoil his date.

But other episodes should be included to showcase the best of the non-Warners material, such as the infamous "Woodstock Slappy" skit, the one in which The Brain takes over country music as "Bubba Bo Bob Brain' and anything with Minerva Mink.

For my money, they could totallly leave out those retarded Rita & Runt and Buttons & Mindy parts. I never felt those were up to par with the rest of the show. While they're at it, they can keep those dumb hippos too.

And entire chapter devoted to "Good Idea, Bad Idea" would also be appreciated.

He's a chicken, I tell you. A GIANT CHICKEN.

I'd buy all of the episodes on DVD because they rock so hard. What I always liked the most were the songs. They were incredibly well written and catchy as well.

Crash just made me lol at the thought of Bubba Bo Bob Brain.

I have a bunch of the Animaniacs song albums on my FTP....so you might wanna check them out soon!

I agree with Crash though, which 25 episode's indeed?!
Like any of the Warner cartoons there are always a bunch of very mediocre episode's amongst them, so I'm hoping some of the classic episode's will be on the DVD set!
Who knows....maybe they will be released in order of airdate's, which should mean that these episode's will be on the DVD set:
http://www.tv.com/animaniacs/show/20...ode_guide.html

I'm glad that that there are also bunch of people here who also want Tiny Toons to come out on DVD BADLY!
I want it even more then Animaniacs and P & the B!
They at least need to release the Tiny Toons movie on DVD (called "How I Spent My Vacation").....it's just a classic!

gah, I don't know why I ever watched this series but I did. Every morning it was the same cartoon, damn did it ever get annoying. Those three dogs, or whatever they were >_< (I'm really sure the cartoon itself was also confused on what they really were too haha)
I couldn't stand it and yet I saw it. This and Tiny toons and freakazoid, well actually freakaziod had somewhat a different humor, I still remember " HEEEERO BOY!" those fat sumo guys with their voices ^_^

Apparently they are deviding each series into 4. So we get the first 25 episodes and 22 episodes of the respective series this July and then in December we get the next 25 and 22 episodes and then repeat next year.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Darkwing Duck I can see...but CAPTAIN PLANET?!? Are you ill?!?

Anyway...

I thought I heard rumors about this happening a few monts back, so it's good to hear the story's alive and well. Just the mention of the name "Animaniacs" brought back some nice memories from my college days. I do want this VERY MUCH...

Really? I hope you're right, because I would hate for them to only release 25 episodes on DVD total. There's far too many that I must have, like the previously mentioned "Michaelangelo" episode or the one where the Warners end up in Hell (while trying to get to Six Flags over Flushing). The good thing about both these sets is, my mother will probably buy them before me . So I don't have to spend my own money for them.

But there's no guarantee that they'll release them in order of air date, if WB's work with the Batman the Animated Series is any example; they didn't follow airdate at all with those sets, even though they're releasing the whole series.

And I hope they have all the Good Idea, Bad Idea things, as well. There's so many little 'filler' parts to the show that were just brilliant (Chicken Boo and Wheel of Morality as well). God, that was the Renaissance of the After-school/Saturday morning cartoon, when Spielberg was in the business.

Darkwing Duck is already confirmed. ExoSquad would be nice if it didn't end before its second season could finish. Who cares about Captain Planet.
