Trade Paperbacks (& hardcovers too).

I have several trade paperbacks:

1)Ant (vol. 1) (published by Arcana, not Image)
2)Astonishing X-MEN: Gifted (vol. 1)
3)Catwoman: When In Rome (hardcover)
4)Crisis On Infinite Earths
5)Day Of Vengeance
6)Green Lantern: Rebirth (hardcover)
7)Hellboy: Seed Of Destruction (vol. 1)
8)Hellboy: Wake The Devil (vol. 2)
9)Hellboy: The Chained Coffin And Others (vol. 3)
10)Hellboy: The Right Hand Of Doom (vol. 4)
11)Hellboy: Conqueror Worm (vol. 5)
12)Identity Crisis (Michael Turner cover) (hardcover)
13)JLA: Crisis Of Conscience (vol. 18)
14)The Omac Project
15)The Punisher: In The Beginning (Max vol. 1)
16)The Punisher: Kitchen Irish (Max vol. 2)
17)The Punisher: Mother Russia (Max vol. 3)
18)Rann-Thanagar War
19)Villians United
20)The X-Files Vol. 2
21)The X-Files Vol. 3
--------

I like trade paperbacks. I think they are a bit easier to store away. I do prefer to get new stories in single issue form because I don't want to wait six moths to a year for a story arc to be collected in a TPB. I only get a TPB if it's a story arc that I missed. If I have a story arc in issue form or most of an arc than I won't spend another $15 to $20 for a TPB. Seems to be a waste of money to me. Some people have said that TPB are hurting the comic industry because there are people who will pass over the single issues for the TPB. A lot of single issues end up in back issue bends. What TPBs do you people have?

Batman: Dard Vengance
JLA: Divided We Fall
JLA: Tower of Babel
Lone Wolf and Cub: 1-27

Flight 1-2
Sleeper 1-4
The Authority 1-4
Watchmen
Supreme
Tom Strong 1-2
Promethea 1-2
Fables 1-6
Invincible 1-5
Astro City Vol.1
Powers 1-Current+Forever
Aparat
Out There: The Evil Within
Earth X
Universe X
House of M
Ifinity Gauntlet
Red Star Vol. 1

I had a large tub of TPB and manga that I had to leave with a friend years ago when I moved across the country and I still have not gotten them back. I don't really recall what's in that tub other than the Lone Wolf and Cubs.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Like you xman25, I only buy TPBs if I've missed an arc or have an incomplete arc. Otherwise I'd pick up weekly singles.

Here are mine:

Sin City vol 1-7
Spider-Man The Death of Gwen Stacy
Spider-Man and the Black Cat: The Evil that Men Do (HC Premiere)
Street Fighter vol 1
Street Fighter vol 2
Superman Doomsday
Ultimate Spider-Man vol 6
Ultimate Spider-Man vol 11
Venom vs Carnage
X-Men Phoenix: Endsong

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

These days I buy almost exclusively trades. I basically only buy single issue comics if I think they won't ever come out as trades, either because they're one-shot deals or because they're unpopular. I'd much rather buy the trade, sit down for an hour, and read a complete story arc all at once. It's just nicer to read that way than spending 10-15 minutes once a month reading tiny installments. Plus trades are nicer to own, easier to store, they're more durable, they don't have ads crammed onto on every third page, and they often come with extras like concept art or rough draft scripts.

I'm house-sitting at the moment, so I don't have my comics/graphic novels/TPBs/THBs in front of me. But from memory, I have (excluding manga):
  • Fables (Volumes 1-7)
  • The Walking Dead (Volumes 1-4)
  • Nightcrawler: The Devil Inside
  • Origin
  • Marvel 1602
  • The Maxx (all except the last volume)
  • Watchmen
  • V for Vendetta
  • Creature Tech
  • The Dream Hunters
  • Elektra and Wolverine: The Redeemer
  • Owly (Volumes 1-3)
  • Sandman: Taller Tales
  • Arrowsmith (volume 1)
  • Johnny the Homicidal Maniac
  • Squee!
  • Black Orchid
  • Midnight Days
  • The Books of Magic (volume 1)
  • Powerless
  • The Last Temptation
  • A Circle of Cats
  • Preacher (full series)

Plus whatever I'm forgetting, and some assorted comic adaptations of things like Terry Pratchett and R.A. Salvatore novels.

I was speaking idiomatically.

I have...

Watchmen
Batman: The Dark Knight Returns
Ghost World
Maus I & II
The Preacher: Gone to Texas
Sin City: The Hard Good-Bye
Dogwitch: Season Two - Twisted
The Sandman: Preludes & Nocturnes
