Desire at first sight?

Have you ever seen something or seen someone do something and been like "Sweet baby Jesus I want to do that," and then instead of forgetting about it actually followed through with it?

I am getting the strange desire to start back up making music after seeing this...

So come in, share your story, partake of the free peanuts.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Every time I see Mo0, I think to myself how fun it would be to try and eat like... six chocolate cakes. And I wonder if I want to try it. But then I remember I prefer cream pies and just forget the whole thing. (Congrats on weight loss, Mo0ster) ((this title plus TQP makes me think think this should be about girls))

There's nowhere I can't reach.

John Mayer just asked me, personally, through an assistant, to sing backup on his new CD.

I thought for sure this thread was going to be another nerd-ANGST thread and I was going to make some smug comment...

Then I actually read the first post.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

In all objectivity, a thread about motivated triumph doesn't belong in this forum.

I've really had an inspiration to write lately after finding a few old ideas that I had completely forgot about. Also, I just got access to a glidecam which has given me a lot of incentive to practice and get better at that as well.

And taking up piano again...inspiration abounds. I love when random little events reinvigorate that spark. There's nothing worse than creative stagnation.

When at first I thought of something else...oh well.

Maybe some kind of having more art talents besides mere raw immature sketches or shitty compositions which tend to stagnate in the middle.

Or ability to shoot laser out of eyes

Well, some things are in progress, but yeah:

1. I got SCUBA certified, albeit it did burn a hole in my finances and I'm paying for it by starving myself now. At least the license is for life.

2. I'm finally completing my Bachelor's degree in 3 weeks!

My college film teacher made me realise that hey, I could get into the film industry if I tried! Films and music and literature were all big looming industries that I never even considered being apart of, thinking it would be impossible to break into any of them. Now I'm at Uni getting a Film degree to set me on my way, I'll be graduating in July and then...glory or insanity awaits.

How ya doing, buddy?

After teaching myself many a bad technique on the piano I had figured that whatever musical aptitude I had been told I had was something I'd never find an outlet for. I discovered Owen Pallett, who changed my viewpoint of the violin from a beautiful instrument into something that I had to master. Three years later I actually own a violin and have weekly lessons with an absolutely delightful teacher, and I've been told I'm sounding great. I may only be able to play the opening sections of Battle of the Banjos in response to my brother's guitar challenges when I practice, but still!

I made eggplant steaks the other day because I was strangely inspired by a cooking show I saw. I always tend to want to cook the really strange dishes I see in shows for some stupid reason.

Mine looked crappier than the ones in this picture, but you get the idea...

I also seem to always want to get back into to Tennis whenever I see one of the major tournaments on television; which I usually do end up doing for a few weeks before I realize why I quit in the first place.

Along those same lines, I also recently tried picking up baseball again (after like 10 years of not playing) after watching the world series, though that sort of fizzled out already as well.

Creative stagnation is really crappy, it's something I'm kind of having to work around right now, strangely enough :-/

Whenever I look at my Tastespotting.com feed, I'm inspired to do the outlandish recipes as well. Probably because it's something I can't get if I go out to eat, and if it's from an exotic country then there's probably no way I'll experience it if I don't do it myself (which is what resulted in me making Pandan Coconut muffins the other night)!

I would say that cooking has been the outlet I've randomly been obsessed with lately... probably because I didn't have the time in my undergrad to really cook, and now I do! (not really... I should be practicing... even now)

After reading this thread I want to make a thread about seeing something done and having the desire to do it yourself.
