Which Camcorder is best to buy?
Alright I'm currently taking a Video Art class. Why I don't know but now I need a cheap good camera so... Which of these should I buy?
JVC - MiniDV Digital Camcorder - GRD770US - Very expensive but if it's better than below than fine but please look at the stuff below and tell me whats good. As a camcorder, I'd get the Alptek MPVR. The 30fps capturing in SuperVHS mode is what you will need. Odds are high that the other models you linked can only record 10-15 fps, and that stuff looks choppy. Also, make sure you buy a 2GB flash card of some kind.
And BTW, as cameras, these suckers are pretty nice for simple photography. So its not that bad a deal. MiniDV is an actual legitimate video format. The rest of those are not, probably compressed with some intra-frame codec that will be hard to edit. I'd stick with the JVC.
