Quiet DVD Drives

I'm in the need of a DVD drive which extremely quiet during DVD movie playback. Anyone able to recommend one based on primary experience? It doesn't matter if it is a DVD-ROM only drive or a DVD-R/RW/DL.

How ya doing, buddy?

Since they spin only with like 2x speed during DVD playback, most modern DVD drives are near silent.

I've heard good things about the Toshiba and LiteOn drives, though. In fact, I'm using a Toshiba drive here and while it tends to get quite loud while transferring data, the thing is dead silent during DVD movie playback.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

I have an LG SuperMulti, and it's one of the quieter drives I've used.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Same here, I highly recommend the LG-GSA H10L if you can find it (I got mine at Best Buy). Not only is it much more silent then any other DVD drive I've used but it also has very good DAE (if you use it).

Even if you find it too loud to your liking, just use Nero Drive Speed and slow that thing down. Any DVD player is dead quiet at 1x.

I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?
