Monitor x2 Calibration

I have two relatively different monitors:

- Samsung 193P+ (1000:1 CR, 16.7M colors)
- Samsung 940B (700:1 CR, 16.2M colors)

The 193P+ has the unfortunate feature of dithering. It really is a 16.2M color monitor, but dithering gives the "illusion" of more colors. Beautiful monitor otherwise.

The 940B has no negative aspects except a brutal backlight bleeding issue around the bezel of the screen. (Is this common?)

I have a strong feeling neither of my monitors is properly calibrated, let alone calibrated with each other. I'm sick and tired of having colors appear differently on each monitor. This is a real problem now that I've started printing my digital photos from my Rebel XT. They just don't look the same.

Is there a sure-fire (or easy) way to get my monitors calibrated with purchasing extra hardware?

How ya doing, buddy?

I assume you mean "withOUT purchasing extra hw", in which case the answer is "no, have fun sitting around and doing it yourself". And in some cases it may be impossible. At work, I have two Dell 1901FP panels. Their colors are different enough that nothing I do can get them to look the same. And they're the same freaking panel.

There's nowhere I can't reach.
