Virus
I'm having a problem here. This virus has infected my mother's computer and I'll be damned if I can find shit on it. Under different scanning software, it's detected as:
psw.bumaf pwsteal.salira troj.mafia.a win32.manda.a It's the salira virus/trojan. I'm at a loss as to what to do now. Yes, all the scanners are updated and such, and yes, I've done google. So don't suggest that to me (although suggestions are welcome, of course.) Jam it back in, in the dark. |
What antivirus app are you using? A few virus databases seem to suggest that removal of the salira virus itself should be easy. The only suggestion I can make, though, is to try scanning with something in safe mode if you haven't done so already.
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Avast and AVG. I've also scanned with regseeker, pestpatrol, spybot, ad-aware, and kaspersky.
The funny thing is, pestpatrol is the only one picking it up. Which is odd, because it's apparently a trojan. The other funny thing is, pestpatrol doesn't always detect it. It's either there, and really fucking obscure, or pestpatrol is having issues itself. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
