They sure are trying everything in their power to make you purchase the Wii version instead. Aside from canceling the game anyway.
Not sure if this was mentioned yet, but it seems this game's getting a T rating, for Teen for Animated Blood and Fantasy Violence. Even if it's nothing major, it still is kind of shocking to see a Zelda game with that rating. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
Except Disney has never done a PG-13 Mickey or Goofy movie.
Granted, the last two Metroids got a T, but it was already a pretty violent series anyway (melting mole lizards). Zelda always had potential to veer into T territory, but Nintendo never took that route until now. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Okay, I've been avoiding this thread like the plague, since I've yet to own a Wii. However, I now need your advice.
So it turns out that the GC version of TP is due this week, and Circuit City is offering it for $38. I was all prepared to purchase the Wii along with Zelda after Christmas, but with the recent purchase of my LCD TV, along with some additional peripherals I want to add with it, that plan seems pretty uncertain. But if all I wanted to do was play Zelda, then why spend over $300 that would be hard to gather up, and just settle with the GC version for now (and sell it off later when I can afford the Wii)? So I need some opinions. I've read that both versions are completely identical in visuals and sound, minus the widescreen support and controls. Do the Wii controls really make a big difference in this game, or can the same kind of fun be had with the traditional GC pad? This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
Believe me, I'm a sucker for widescreen, and demand that all future games, movies, and shows support it. That said, I'm told that Zelda Wii isn't exactly true widescreen, that they just crop some of the picture to give you that widescreen effect.
Even so, I have to ask myself if it's worth delaying my acquisition of Zelda for a few extra months just for a widescreen mode and some fun but clearly tacked-on controls. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
Exactly. It sucks putting off one of the two most anticipated games this year (FFXII being the other) just because I can't currently afford a new system ($250) plus the slightly tweaked game ($50) and component cables ($30), when I can just buy it right now for the system I have ($40).
I really have no other reason to getting a Wii this soon (just as how there's no real reason, at least from a gaming perspective, to get the PS3 other than Resistence), plus I want to concentrate my finances for my Home Theater setup. I was speaking idiomatically. |
Also, I never knew Zelda's longtime composer was a woman. I guess I always stupidly thought all Nintendo games were conducted by the same person. ;/ What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
Right, of course. This time I really was stupid.
I'm actually excited at the prospect of getting this game under the tree tommorow. It'll feel like old times. ![]() FELIPE NO |
Is it the same orchestral piece used for one of the first trailers?
What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
Has there been any word on an official OST being released? I'm very impressed with the soundtrack to this game, but all I've found is a gamerip at GH, and a crappy one at that (all sound effects are left in).
