Planescape: Torment and/or Fallout 1 and 2. There really is no discussion, both games snow Elder Scrolls, Diablo, and everything else. Superior storylines and game systems. Hardcore nostalgics don't keep bringing these two up for no reason.
MMO, I vote City of Heroes/Villains. It tosses out all the needless Everquest baggage and questionable design elements that plague World of Warcraft. No loot, no 40 man instanced dungeons, and no having to wait until level 40 for a horse - you're flying in just a few day's worth of effort. No time sinks are a good thing. Jam it back in, in the dark.  |
