[Movie] LOST

So, I just recently got into Lost. On Saturday my friend got me started on the show with his season 1 box set, and I became hooked pretty quickly. I downloaded the season 2 torrent really quickly, and watched all the episodes in time to catch tonight's episode.

I'm surprised by all the negative comments about the season so far. I mean it's not as good as the first of course, but it's not nearly as bad as most of you are making it seem. Having to wait for a week in between every episode is probably ramping up your expectations too high, so you all end up disappointed.

Season 2 definitely had a few episodes that were pretty slow, but I've enjoyed pretty much the entire series so far, and haven't noticed any episodes I'd say were horrible. Some of the more detailed backstories have made some of the main characters a lot less likable, but it's still neat finding out about them.

Anyways, just posting to say that Lost is awesome, and some of the theories I've read in the thread so far are pretty intriguing as well.

Two of the things that I found the most interesting that no one has touched on so far are:

The bearded guy (Kelven, I think?) who rescued Desmond is the one who painted the clue to get to the Pearl station... very strange. Also, I thought that was pretty sneaky that the Others' supposed beach camp was just a front, and that nothing was behind the big metal doors. Since they abandoned that facility where they messed around with Claire, they've got to be somewhere else. Maybe they're all hiding inside the foot statue.

It was a pretty neat twist that the Pearl station ended up being the psychological experiment, I thought.

I was hoping they'd reveal a bit more about why the Others seem to know so much. One thing that's been bothering me since they gave Michael that list is that they referred to Sawyer by his real name, James Ford. If they had been spying on the survivors, they'd know him as Sawyer, and since they don't have access to the manifest, they must have some other means of tracking who landed on the island.

Also, not sure if this is a new clue, but during the commercials they had an ad for www.hansocareers.com. I really suck at decoding these things, but I managed to get some jumbled up letters out of it so far.

Tonight's episode was kind of nice. For me, it was a welcome change of pace since I've been tired of all the Jack/Kate/Sawyer drama for a while now.

I thought it was a little bit of a cheat to copy Hurley's lottery backstory and re-use it, but it's been a while since Lost has made me smile.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.
