06-07 NHL Discussion Thread

Discuss all of the off-season happenings, and other assorted stuff leading up to, and including, the 2006-2007 season.

My only hope for this year is that the Pens finally get Malkin. And that they don't get moved.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Good news in Pittsburgh: The Pens resigned Colby Armstrong, giving Sid a competant option on his line, as well as two unnamed players who reportedly will fill some holes.

How ya doing, buddy?

I dunno, Wojo. It'll be nice to have a strong veteran prescence out there with all the young guys.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

What a thing to wake up to. He said he wanted to play for the Pens this year, and that the only thing possibly stopping him was the Russian team not letting him leave, and then he voluntarilly signs a new contract. What a cunt.

Oh shit son Malkin comin like what.

However I won't get my hopes up untill I see something 100% legit.
That's pretty damn good news, considering he was our only option for a second line center currently. I just hope he gets here before the Russian mafia takes him out. =o

I like how he's at an UNDISCLOSED location in the US. Gonchar keepin him locked up in the basement prolly.
That would have been the first positive contribution Gonchar had made to the team in a long time. On a more serious note, this is great news. I'm really excited to see him in action, and hopefully in Pittsburgh for years to come.

Yeah, I'm hoping so. They're good friends with Gonchar (for some reason), and apparently Malkin is staying with him for the time being. I would kill for a dinner with someone like that.

It's Philly. What did you expect?

Anyway, what an awesome game. Everyone looked great*, especially Fleury who had the game of his career. Really looking forward to the rest of this season.

The Pens offense had absolutely no flow going in that game. We would never seem to be able to hold it in the offensive zone, even on powerplays. I don't know if it was the Pens' offense or the Wings' defense, but we didn't look good at all.

Still, it's only one game and Fleury looked pretty damn good, again. Through two games it looks like we might have a contender on our hands.

The second line has got to be the slowest line in the NHL, at the moment. It's just sad watching them.

Malkin really looked terrific in his first game as a Penguin. He came out hot and scored the lone Pens goal against the Devils tonight, and knocked a guy trying to check him right on his ass. Plus a slapshot of his broke the glass behind the goal.

My dad's buddy just re-did Gonchar's kitchen. He said his wife is smoking, by the way.

What a great game, too. Really exciting to watch.

Ryan Malone kicked someone's ass after breaking his forearm in a check. How hardcore is that.
