Shiiiiit. Has anyone had to send their console to MS for RROD? My console died literally right when I put GTA IV in. I did get it to work a little after and play about 4 hours + 15 minutes of multiplayer, but now it's completely toast. I just got my box to send it back to MS and my fiance told me to prepare to wait a month. He's already on his 4th 360 but he got his consoles replaced through GameStop and not MS.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Hm I guess in all it will be almost/approaching a month without the 360. It's already been 8 days, I'm not sure how long it will take MS to receive from Hawaii but I doubt it'll be drastically longer. As long as they give me a console that I don't have to return again in a few weeks..it's bad enough not being able to play GTA but now I have a Hexic craving and I can only play it on my phone right now which..sucks.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

I'm only on my second system right now but I do agree it's amazing knowing how many systems some people have gone through. A friend I know through the internet is about to be on his fifth unless he gives up completely after this. My fiancé is on his fourth and it still gives him problems but it has been ok for about 4 months now. He had to replace the first 3 within the same span of time previously.

My system seems to be trucking along...only thing is in order for me to actually be able to play any disc without it freezing or being called unreadable, I have to boot the system to the dashboard, turn it off, boot it up again + open the disc tray. Then I have to let it sit for a minute before I close the tray and it'll let me play as long as I want with no problems. Otherwise it's guaranteed to screw up when I don't do that. Could be after 5 minutes or it could be after 10 but if I do all of that then I could play for 6 hours straight and it would be perfectly fine. My XBL buddies often sign on and then sign on again about a minute later before they start playing...I kind of wonder if they have to do the same shit I do.

Oh yeah and good fucking god do I wish I had enough MS points to buy Braid right now x.x

The only thing that really sucked for me when my system died is that it died like..the moment I put GTA IV in for the first time and that was my most anticipated game at that point and it was all I wanted to play. I think I yelled at my system. And being out in Hawaii meant shipping took longer so I was without my system for a little over a month. The fixing/replacement only took like 2 days, just the shipping took forever. At least the process itself was really simple and the MS guy I spoke to on the phone was cool, and yeah, free XBL is always nice.

New dashboard was kind of confusing at first but now I think I've got it. The thing that mostly confused me, I think, is why I can see certain people on the Friends thing when they're not my actual friends, but I guess it's just showing who is in who's party. Didn't realize the XBL party feature is mostly for private chatting with 8 people. All my friends that were bitching about how the avatar feature is "gay" etc. were pretty excited about showing their's off. I might try installing Fable II to the HDD and see if it's any faster.

Here's my chubby av, though she has lighter skin than this on my system:

You call that chubby? I have yet to see any overweight avatars, and some look downright anorexic. Please tell me that BigTurnip will be able to represent.
Yeah it actually looks pretty thin compared to the largest setting, which definitely looks a l'il wide but still not that big. The one I have is the setting right below the largest.

It always freezes anytime I view details on people in the Friends channel then try to go back. Sometimes if I let it sit for 2 or 3 minutes it will load up, though..

Huh. Guess I'm the only one who made avatar based on myself. Oh well.

So how much space does each game installation typically take?
I tried to make mine as close to myself as possible, right down to the boring ass clothes I'd wear.

This chart gives the space a game will take up along with the time it saves you, it's being updated as new info arrives:

So how much time are you saving? - Xbox 360 NXE Hard Drive Install Chart

I installed Fable II, I suppose it loads a little bit faster but honestly my game seemed to lag/skip around much more after. Hopefully just a fluke, I noticed that browsing the menus/inventory wasn't as much of a pain in the ass.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

Apparently they give you the gamerpic too (avatarpic-l.png), handy if you made your avatar your new gamerpic. I chucked my FFXI moogle for myself pretty much.

Not the one I have now but it was the first one I saved. I'm kind of having too much fun snapping pics of my avatar, because it's so easy and quick to do, I'm just always changing it.

I noticed on the Friends channel that you can click the right stick which makes them wave, move it left to right (as if shaking their head) to make an unhappy face, and move it up and down to make them smile.

I've also had the music cut out a couple of times in various games.
I was about to ask if anyone else had that happened to them. It's kind of neat at first to just hear SFX but gets irritating after awhile. But I'd rather deal with no music than the other person lag-warping around me through a whole match

At least I can actually finish this game...I never want to touch Hyper Fighting again. But I probably won't touch HD Remix much either since Banjo-Kazooie is out today.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Community Games are weird. Has anyone seen Remote Masseuse or Rumble Massage? Did Microsoft really think people were going to use their rapidly vibrating and pulsing controllers w/ network play on their neck or back? I'm surprised they let those games go through to the Marketplace.

I'm not saying people are gonna start sticking controllers inside themselves just because. This is like the trance vibrator thing for Rez but in these two games the whole point is to massage with your controller, literally. It's just weird and a bit amusing that they actually allow that on there and charge for it while at the same my friends are getting suspended left and right for having a swear word in their profile.

I don't disagree, it's completely their fault for breaking the TOS, anyway. I'm not going to rally and say they shouldn't be suspended, I've even told some of my friends to change their shit before they get suspended. Probably not the best point for me to make.

I don't see why it's some outrageous stretch for me to say what I did about those games just because they don't flat out advertise as something sexual, christ. It's not even that big of a deal to me and I never said they should remove those games. It's just amusing and slightly awkward to see that while browsing the games. It reminds me of those weird Harry Potter brooms they used to sell on Amazon whether the controversy was true or not. If I have a dirty mind then...whatever, sorry for even talking about it at all.

I do know that I'm addicted to that new Peggle game, though.
