I love the DC, however it was no match for the PS2. People were burned by Sega, the PS2 had DVD playback, it had a large licensee backing, it had Madden, and it was more powerful.
I certainly didn't think it was that much more powerful at the time, but developers eventually tapped into it. A shame it died, but at least it happened. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
The Playstation was nearing its end, and people were gearing up for the next generation which Dreamcast kicked off. The DC was only out for 15 months before the PS2 came out, yet it failed to gain enough momentum to counteract it. The PS2 sold like hotcakes, leaving the DC in the dust. Regardless, you can say Sony was dominating everyone. How ya doing, buddy? |
