Of course it's a fake. A pretty funny one though. I'd love it if melee attacks actually ended up that gay looking and they put in a super kick like that. The one thing Halo games so far seem to lack is anything approaching a sense of humour.

It's been pretty quiet on the Halo 3 front for a while. Maybe they're all too busy playing Halo 2 still to get it finished (My flat-mate's clan played the Bungie team a few eeks back, lost quite badly too but apparently they're nice blokes).

They showed that on Gamer.tv a while back, my mate TIVO'd it. They do quite a good job of not really saying anything I thought. I imagine though, after so many of their announcements about H2 turned out to be bullshit, that they're gonna be a bit more tight lipped about three. Apparently Bungie are releasing sporadic pod-casts now though but I've not had a chance to listen to any yet.

I often find as well that screen shots in magazines are taken from NTSC versions of games which are naturally ugly compared to PAL ones. Not an issue in the new HD era but made a big difference on the PS2...

When he jumps into the group of aliens, the one in the middle looks like a Brute with a big hammer and a shield. New melee weapons then? I was hoping they'd have killed off the Brutes to be honest, I didn't really think they added much to game personally.

My flatmate has literally only ever played Halo 2 on his Xbox but even he's gotten so bored of the incessant cheating to the extent he bought a 360 and plays Gears now.

That said, the best way to get Halo practice is to have some decently long sessions with the same group of people, I find. That way, at least your own team are playing well, if not the opposition...

Amazon.co.uk say November 23rd but they have a habit of making up release dates for things.

You never know, by now Microsoft might have learned their lesson and won't put out a release date too far in advance or at least not so far in advance that Sony and Ninty have a chance to steal their thunder. If memory serves the announcement of Halo 2 gave Sony plenty of time to line up San Andreas for release a week before and that fucked over Halo 2's sales in the UK for a long time.

That list of achievements looks a lot like why so many Battlefield 2 games were shit. You just know there's going to be a load of kids trying to earn achievements with their friends by jacking each other in and out of vehicles and stuff like that, rather than actually playing the game. The continued emphasis on achievement points and rankings pisses me off a bit really. What ever happened to playing games for the fun of it?

On a similar note, I hope they make the ranking points penalties for dropping out of games a lot more severe than for losing them so people won't all quit if they're on the losing team in round four of an assault match.

I was hoping for an epically huge battle to end the campaign. The Warthog crap at the end of the first game was just annoying and the boss fight at the end of 2 was gay as all fuck. What you want is something like Starship Troopers. MC and hundreds of marines defending a fort against a sea of Covenant attackers. That'd would be proper awesome.

A Live subscription is the same price with a credit card or from a store here too, guess it sucks to live in New Zealand.

Finished the campaign last night (Only on normal mode mind) and frankly, it's pretty amazing. I also played the first few levels on heroic with a mate over Live. Sadly, I'm still using my flatmate's 360 at the moment and he doesn't have a Gold membership so I had to use the free 48 hour membership that came with the game to get online at all. I'm away on business for a week or so but when I get back I should be getting my own 360 and using my own name again at last.
