Depends on what the noise is like. Is it a very high-pitched chirruping sound or a constant rumbling or vibration? If it is a chirruping sound it may be your power-supply or power-regulation components on the motherboard rather than a fan.
One sure-fire way to figure out if it is a fan or not is to simply open up your case and (carefully) use your finger to slow down and stop each fan one by one. Only do this for a second or two at most; you will know if it is a faulty fan because the noise will suddenly stop. Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]() |
