This is sadly unsurprising (why the fuck do so many arseholes play games, grrr). This is going to make me somewhat cautious about playing custom levels, since someone could drop you straight onto one of these wheels and fuck up your game.

From what I've heard, it's generally a case of a game host taking people to their moon to show them unpublished levels. You shouldn't have to worry about published levels, because they should be tagged and moderated in no time if they have a wheel of death in them.
Also, I haven't quite beaten the game yet, but I decided to start messing around in the creation mode. It's pretty amazing how deep it goes. I have an idea for a battleship-themed level, so I spent some time last night making an AA gun that I'll probably incorporate into the final level. It was neat figuring out what all I could add to it, until eventually I got both barrels to recoil in an alternating pattern that matched the fire, with accompanying "boom" noises. I synced the motor up with a sound emitter to make a large servo motor noise as it rotates to aim too. Fun stuff.
