The current status of your copy of GT3.

Well, reflecting back now and looking at my small collection of PS1 and 2 games, my eyes always somehow seem to skip this one title, Gran Turismo 3 A-spec. It's been forever and a day since I last put this game into my console, but each time I glance over it in search of other stuff to play, images of having a great summer 3 years ago quickly race across my mind.

It's a known fact I'm never going to pop that game back in, but for some reason I don't want to trade it in (for like what $1 credit at EB?) so I just keep it for keepsakes and a memento of the good old PS2 days; the days I thought, this must be the future of gaming 3 years ago. Thinking about it now, GT3 was the only PS2 game I had for over 2 months, so basically, I was racing around each track God knows how many times for the endurance races, since there wasn't really anything more interesting to do in my house during that time (yes I live a boring life).

Now whenever I'm at Bestbuy or Walmart or whatever, I just chuckle when I still see that game selling for $19.99. I guess it's just a reflection of back then how much I enjoyed it but now it's sitting back collecting dust. I'm not sad about it or anything, but I did enjoy it. And for sure I'm no where near done, but I've just giving it the "retired" status.

What has happened to your copy of Gran Turismo 3, as since it was a launch title, I'm guessing quite a few first wave PS2 gamers picked it up pretty much for the damn good graphics for back then. Vote in the poll and discuss if you have any recollection or emotions when you did enjoy or not enjoy this game.

EDIT: God damn, it timed out and I couldn't get the poll in.

At any rate, it consisted of the following:

1) What, I still play this everyday

2) I let this sit back in the shelf to collect dust and to never touch the damn thing again

3) I've let this sit back long enough and play it for the hell of it

4) I sold my copy

5) I never bought it

6) I traded it for another game

7) I lost my copy

8) I gave it away

9) I use it as a beverage coaster

10) Real people play GTA:3 to SA.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

#9: I haven't played in forever. it's all about GT4 and Black right now for me.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I traded it to a friend for something else. I loved the game while I had it though, but I enjoyed GT4 more.

If I remember correctly, GT3 wasn't a launch title. It was released the summer of 2001.

Much like with sports games, that have revised versions coming out on a yearly basis, a series like Gran Turismo is one where you tend to see little reason to play anything but the latest entry. And as awsome as GT3 once was, it was over and done with the moment GT4 was leaked released.

I still play my copy ever now and again despite having GT4 as well. I got all those F1 cars from the endurance races, so I love to go back and do the Tokyo R246 endurance in the F090s. Gotta love lap times under 1:00'000 =P

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Numba 2. I never got into it; the hype machine told me I'd grow to love it. That hype machine lies.

Number 2 for me, except I didn't even buy it until it was already $20, and I only played it for about a month until I stopped playing it. I honestly don't even know why I bought it, since I don't even like simulation racers (or any racers, for that matter) that much.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I sold it last year sometime. I got about £20 for it. Sure it looked pretty enough, but i just couldn't get into it.
I afraid GT4 went the same way earlier this year.

I still play it, but not everyday, just for the sake of fun. Plus, I'm still making my way for getting the S-License, its pretty hard though.

#4 Sold my copy.

I used to love it until I started to realize killing hookers after pleasuring me to get the refund wasn't fair to them.

So I hear when you unlock all your licenses, you can have sex with the hookers in your F1 car and Subaru Imprezza WRX. It's great, because the graphics back then were top notch for cars. People should look as great, right?

My case is number 8 "I gave it away".
Honestly, I've never enjoyed this game, and the friend who I gave it to love this game.
So overall I belive it was a good deal, I was happy because I don't have a copy of it near my house and my friend's happy because he now has it.

Mine is sitting amongst a pile of unused PS2 games. I got it used from Gamestop for $1.99, by the way.

It's funny how my local Wal-marts/Best Buys and the like are still selling it for $19.99 to $24.99. Rows and rows of them. Again, I just give a brief chuckle. So many unloved games that will never find a home. I'm actually really curious at how much my local EB games will give me credit for. I bet the guy will be like "... umm....eerrr...sorry, not in my system, we don't take that one anymore".

I should give that phone call a go sometime, just for kicks.
