Laptop start-up issue
Today I dug my laptop out of my closet and tried to turn it on, but nothing happened when I pressed the on button. So I plug it in thinking that maybe the battery is dead and try it again. No luck. I wait about 10 minutes thinking it needs some more juice to start up. Again, no luck.
The orange "charging" light on the front is on, which means that it is charging and the power is going somewhere, but the button to turn the laptop on is completely unresponsive. I tried holding the button down, however, and after about 10 seconds the LED lights flash strangely and it boots, but it used to be instantaneous upon the button press. What exactly is going on? Last time I used it it worked fine and that was literally 6 weeks ago. It's been sitting in its case in my closet ever since. Absolutely nothing could have happened to it. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
Well, other than this problem with the power button, does the computer have any problems?
There's nowhere I can't reach.

Nope.
And strangely enough, it seems to work after I let the thing fully, 100% charge. I'll check it again tomorrow morning and make sure. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
I have had that happen to a few times...rather it took two presses to get the power going. I wouldn't worry about it, although the problem seems to be a slightly loose connection on the power button. It may have been "fixed" though after you pressed down as long as you did.
