color printer won't print color
This happened to my old color printer years ago. I bought a new one, and now it's happening again.
It used to be where all of the color pictures I printed were all malformed and the colors were all messed up. Red would be purple, blue would be green, etc. But now it's gotten to a point where color doesn't print AT ALL. I bought a brand new color cartridge, along with a black color cartridge. Put them in, aligned them correctly, did all of the service tests and everything. But it still does not print a single thing in color. The printer is an HP PSC 1315. I have absolutely no idea what's wrong with this. I'm led to believe that the problem lies in the cable that connects the printer to my computer, since this same problem occured in my old HP printer... but then again, when I bought the new [current] printer it was working for years until now. I don't print things in color often, but like three times a month I have to print cards for people and flyers and such and it's real annoying how I get ghetto ass images printed out. Please help, thank you. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
I'm pretty sure that your print heads are clogged. I'm not sure if the manual will tell you how to clean them, but if they don't just google for instructions. With ink jet printers, you must print regularly to prevent ink from clogging the heads. Also, ink can dry up quite quickly under the right circumstances.
I used to work at Staples and I've seen this a lot. Also, if it's less than a year old, it is still under warranty. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
