Bill Gates to go part-time in 2008

Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]() |
If Gates will remain Chairman of Microsoft, he isn't "stepping down".
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
But seriously, its been a long time coming. I think MS will be better off for this. Maybe Gates trying to dip his hands into so much is the reason why so much is delayed/weak/incomplete. If he's overseeing and approving everything (or even most of everything) as well as being CEO, he's doing waaaaay too much for a healthy company. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. ~ Ready To Strike ~ :Currently Playing: League Of Legends(PC), Skyrim(PC), Golden Sun: Lost Age(GBA), Twilight Princess(Wii), Portal2(PC), Dragon Warrior II(NES), Metroid Prime 2: Echoes(GC)

Well, he IS stepping down from day-to-day activites, so I'd say that's a bit of a drop off from his current workload.

And in 2008.
*sigh* Time for me to re-title this thread. I was speaking idiomatically.

Well, technically, going part-time IS a step down from being the CEO full-time.
![]() Ah, semantics. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
Bill Gates still works? Wow. I thought that he just lived off of his stocks and shares in MS.

Plots within plots. Poor countries like those in Africa are where Linux has achieved a great deal of dominance, since it's a free operating system that helps impoverished people get wired on the cheap. And look, now Gates is focusing his attention on the poor people of Africa. Philanthropy is never a bad thing, but Gates is hardly doing this on a whim.
What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? ![]() |

This guy is incredible he has given $28 Billion in donations, when the tsunami disaster happened in the east he gave $1.1 Billion in donations alone. He could of so easily plowed this back into Microsoft or bought himslef a few countries.
I don't see any other of the world's richest men doing this just look at that bastard Rupert Murdoch for example, so I can only applaud the guy, he has deep pockets and he gives big. Its not only him but its actually his wife who has been a big front runner when it comes to flying the flag when it comes to helping the less fortunate around the world. And Monkey King saying this is just a tactical move to promote Microsoft's influence is just retarded, and I think the image many people hold of Bill Gates is an entirely false one, I don't see any other billionaire or many regular people for that matter that deserve such respect in championing aid relief for the poor. How ya doing, buddy?
