Bit torrents
I've been using Azureus to download bit torrent stuff, because uTorrent always disconnect my Internet.
Anyways, I'm getting ridiculously slow speed. There are plenty of seeders and leachers (800, 5000), and I'm even connected to 50 of them. But I'll be lucky if I get over 1 kb/s. I don't know why. I have DSL, with a router though. I remember there being a website that tells me which port to forward my things. Anyone know of it? It auto detects it for me. I tried testing my current port, and I get an error message. Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]() Dance party!

Chances are that your router is just crappy and can't handle a high number of TCP connections. This would explain the slow speeds and uTorrent disconnecting. Try to lower the number of connections in your client to remedy the problem. The ports you need to forward are also specified in your client. Make sure to use non-default ones in case your ISP blocks certain P2P ports.
And if you're using Windows XP SP2 make sure to use this TCP limit fix. Most amazing jew boots |
What does that file do? It says my limit is 10, but it should change to 50?
The thing is, at times I'm able to download really fast, 100 kb/s. But these are for more "limited" ones, like boxtorrents.com where you are required to register. I've noticed that for the more "public" ones, like the ones where you can get off www.thepiratebay.org, lags like hell for me. How ya doing, buddy? ![]() Dance party!

You might even want to set it higher. Just remember to adjust your BT client accordingly, so it doesn't use more connections or otherwise your downloads will slow down to a crawl.
The patcher removes the incredibly low TCP connections limit introduced with SP2 for security reasons (worm prevention). Most amazing jew boots |
It's still painfully slow. I made sure I opened up the required ports, 6881-6889. I also used your patch to open up more slots.
My router is a D-Link, a DI 604 model. I don't think it's that cheap of a model.
Here's the link for my router though. Which tab do I edit it on? http://support.dlink.com/faq/view.asp?prod_id=1347#604 I was speaking idiomatically. ![]() Dance party!

Any ports but the default ones (6881-6889 for BitTorrent) will do just fine.
30759 seems OK (most clients only need one port now), just make sure you have that port forwarded to your computer's own IP in your router's settings. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |

There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Generally I don't use Azereus, I use ABC, which is quite good in my opinion. I typically keep my ports at 52000-53000. (I'm using a Linksys WRT54G router.) How ya doing, buddy? |
