Drive doesn't want to open
My drive, a Samsung TS-H552B, seems to have a problem opening. Depending on what mood it's in, I sometimes have to push the button once or 59 millions times. When I push it, I can hear it "try" to open then "try" to close then after however long, it just opens. It doesn't seem sticky or anything. So weird...
Jam it back in, in the dark. |
You could remove the drive and have a close look at it. You can open the drive manually while you've got it out by inserting a needle or somethig similar into the little hole That's somewhere on all drives. It could just be one of the parts of the mechanism has worn our or broken, such as a spring or something. If so, it shouldn't be too hard / expensive to fix.
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
This happened with my one cd-rom and after opening it as Roph mentioned, it still struggles to open, though it does manage to open every time.
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
