ASUS P5N32-SLI Problems

Yesterday, I tried building my new machine when the final part of the computer arrived on Friday. The list of the components are as follows:

ASUS P5N32-SLI Deluxe
Intel Pentium D 955 LGA775 Extreme Edition 3.46Ghz
500GB Seagate Sata-II HDD
Kingston 2GB HyperX 675Mhz DDR2 PC5400 Non-ECC RAM
XFX GeForce 7950 GX2 XXX Edition
600W Enermax PSU

After hooking up all the devices I tried booting up the machine with a 17" inch TFT monitor that I know works, but after repeating boot up attempts, nothing would appear on the screen.

I know that the 7950 is a new card and currenlty only works on a handful of motherboards, so I thought that this was causing the problem. I swapped the 7950 out and put an XFX 6800 in and still nothing. The BIOS version on the motherboard hasn't been upgraded yet and can't be upgraded (to possibly work with the 7950) since nothing will appear on the screen.

My next thought was that the RAM isn't compatible, but I did thorough research beforehand to make sure everything was compatible before buying anything (the 7950 was a long shot and if it didn't work I had the option to sell it to a friend and use the 6800). I have no spare RAM to try out for this motherboard so my only conclusion would be the RAM is causing the problem. While I'm quite sure that the processor I picked works with this motherboard, I can't rule out the possibility that the processor isn't compatible as well.

I would glady appreciate any help incase I have missed anything that might be causing the problem. Thanks.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Does the PC actually boot up or does it shutdown during POST giving out a beeping sound, or flashing lights. If it does the latter check you manual with the corresponding warning and it should tell you what is wrong.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

The computer boots up but nothing will appear on the screen, no POST messages or anything. I've already tried resetting the CMOS battery per ASUS's website help with no success.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Actually, if it was the RAM, you should be able to get to the BIOS or at least hear an error message.

I'm thinking that this has to be a motherboard problem. If you haven't been able to pull up the BIOS with all those tests...

How ya doing, buddy?

If the PC boots up fine and you just don't get a signal from the graphics card it might have to do with the cabling. Most new graphics cards come with more than one connector (usually VGA and DVI). Have you tried connecting the monitor to both of them?

I was speaking idiomatically.

For now, I'm trying out the 6800 which has a VGA and DVI output. I've tried both of them on the same monitor with no success.

[EDIT] Found out I need to upgrade the BIOS to the newest version to get anything working.

Only problem now is getting the CPU and RAM in order for the mobo to bootup to actually upgrade.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?
