EU-to-US AC converter
I recently ordered a GP2X handheld, and the thing is awesome. However, one major drawback is that it uses AA batteries instead of a rechargeable Li-Ion (which could be charged via USB a la iPod). So I figured I'd get the AC adapter as well so I wouldn't be spending half my income on batteries for the thing.
The AC adapter, as it turns out, is of the two-pronged continental European variety (two long, rounded prongs, spaced far apart). Anyone know if I can either: A. Plug a standard wall-to-brick cable in that I normally use for an external DVD-RW (110v AC on one end, and that funny figure-8 plug on the other that goes into the power brick-GP2x power brick has the same connector) B. Find a suitable converter at someplace like Rat Shack? I know they have plenty of adapters/converters for USians travelling abroad, but I'd have to basically be a Korean travelling in the US. Thanks a ton. Jam it back in, in the dark. It is not my custom to go where I am not invited. |
If not at Radio Shack, I'm sure you can find a Euro -> US plug converter on eBay for a few bucks.
There's nowhere I can't reach. |

Looks like option A is going to work. @RacinReaver: Thanks for the tip. I'll do that if my Rat Shack doesn't have it-I'm on my way there tonight anyway to drop off a game at the blockbuster next door. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. It is not my custom to go where I am not invited. |
