Escaflowne - Lover's Only [VICL-841]
VICL-841
01 - i don't need a promise (tv edit) 02 - the vision of escaflowne (take 2) 03 - memory of fanelia 04 - dance of curse 05 - zaibach 06 - flying dragon 07 - cradle song 08 - friend 09 - bird cage 10 - chain 11 - epistle 12 - perfect world 13 - blaze (take 2) 14 - hitomi theme 15 - angel 16 - cat's feeling 17 - arcadia 18 - windy day 19 - mystic eyes (tv edit) 20 - the story of escaflowne (end title) Escaflowne is one of the most memorable anime I ever watched before. I'm sure most you also feel that the music is superb. But I never thought they are so wonderful until I got my hand on Escflowne soundtracks. Here in Lover's only we got the best tracks and compilation from other album. This album features several songs sung by the Seiyuu, such as the unforgettable Yakusoku wa Iranai. After listening the entire album, I have added Yoko Kanno as one of the most respected composer after Koichi Sugiyama. Her compositions ultimately powerful, she uses a lot of powerful SATB, flute, brass, and string instruments like in the track 3 "Dance of Death". Other SATB tracks are also found in 10 "Chain" and 11 "Epistle". Epistle has been my most favorite track and I regard it as the most powerful music in this track (I wonder where to find the lyrics?). No comment, you should grab this album. This CD is super amazing I tell you. If you love escaflowne and orchestrated music, this cd is perfect for you. 5/5 Jam it back in, in the dark.

It's my favorite of all 4 of the OSTs. Mostly because of the finale, but still, can't hear it now without a tear. Quite the ending I must say...
Anyway, I finally just got around to buying the official version tonight after having a Son May copy for years. Really ought to listen to the CDs again once the legit copies arrive and write a more interesting post however... ![]() There's nowhere I can't reach. |
I haven't listened to this one, but I have listened to the OSTs 1-3. I didn't really much care for OST 2 (which is a first for not enjoying a Kanno OST). I felt that the second soundtrack was mainly filler, which is odd for a composer of such talent as Kanno. Now the first and third soundtracks are the best. There is nothing wrong with either of them. However, I will give this last soundtrack a try
