PiccoloNamek's Photos

With three new photo threads opening within only a few days of each other, I feel the need to show off some of my own work too. (I know, I'm an arrogant bastard ) Hopefully I can find some stuff that wasn't on the Xchange.

And of course, we can't forget this one, even though the whole internet has already seen it:

How ya doing, buddy?

I like the "Steel in Juxtaposition" one best. Gear?

There's nowhere I can't reach.

All of the photos above were taken with an Olympus C-5050Z, except for the plamsa picture, which was taken with an Olympus C-720UZ.

I also have a gallery here: http://blaisefrazier.zoto.com/galleries

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Overall, lovely photos! Can't quite find it in me to critique you, but here's a little subjective criticism on my part. I'm not a fan of objects in the center (you know, the traditional photo rule). So the steel object and white leaf (starfruit?) can be a little off center. Again, these are all very good photos!

I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?

Aw, why not?

Rules are for losers and measurebators. My intent with that photo was to accentuate the purity of the white leaf (it really was that white) in comparison to the ugly darkenss of the decaying leaves. It wouldn't have had the same impact if it had been in one of the corners or sides. It had to be in the center because I wanted to capture the fact that it was surrounded by decay.

Likewise, the supercharger wouldn't have been as imposing if it had been off-center.

I was speaking idiomatically.

Measurebators, interesting. =p But, my opinion is still the same. Perhaps a vertical shot, with it bottom centered? Nevertheless, good material.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

It just wouldn't be as striking, IMO. The bright whiteness in the middle of the black leaves automatically draws your eyes right to it and away from the black leaves. If the darkness was greater on any side, the effect would be lost.

But I apprecite your opinion.

Of course, following rules isn't always a bad thing. The rule of thirds worked well in this photograph:

Good stuff piccolo. I am digging the angle in the second one and the motor picture I really like. I think you did a good job of establishing its superiority in terms of power.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?
