How to resize images in photoshop/paintshop pro

I've tried resizing several images in both programs, but whenever I increase their size, they became very pixelated. If I zoom in on the picture to enlarge it however, there is far less pixelation. I've played around with all the options in the resize menu, but the image still comes out pixelated no matter what I do. Does anyone know what's wrong?

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I forget it how to do it but use Batch Image Resize is too easy to resize your Images.

Look, you can't create data that isn't there in a raster image. The end.

Besides, you're totally mixing up terms. If you resize up with default settings, you'll end up with a BLURRY MESS, not a pixelated one. If anything, zooming on the pixels is what gives you a blocky, pixelated view.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I can't remember what the setting in the Resize menu is called (Interpolation probably), but it's default setting is Nearest Neighbor. Change it to whatever the lowest setting is as that'll just resize the pixels one-to-one. I think that's what you're trying to do in any case.

Nearest Neighbor is what resizes pixels one to one (assuming you're resizing to a multiple of the original image size). The ones that blend are bilinear, bicubic, or other blending methods.

I was speaking idiomatically.
