Nintendo's Wrestling games are the BEST
Who agrees with me on this? Sure PS2 has the RAW vs Smackdown series, but No Mercy, argueably the greatest wrestling game was on the N64. Also the game before that Wrestlemania 2000 was great too.
And now that the Wii will have that downloadable flash card thingy, I can finally play all the great N64 wrestling games along with the all the gamecube games that I never tried without having to drag out my N64. Is anyone else with me on this? Jam it back in, in the dark. |
I played this one wrestling game back in the day, I think it was called WCW/NWO Nitro, or something like that. I was never even a WCW fan (I don't watch wrestling at all anymore, but when the WWF (yes, it was still called WWF back when I watched it) was pretty much all I watched), but that game was still so much fun regardless. My friend let me borrow his N64 for like a week one time (I never owned one), and even though he gave me like three or four games to go with it, this was almost the only one I played (I even played it more than Starfox 64).
But one time he had a Playstation WWF game (I don't remember which one it was), and it just wasn't very good, at least not as good as the N64 game. I don't know what it is, but it's like that system was made for wrestling games. Even after playing some PS2 wrestling games, I still love that N64 game the most. There's nowhere I can't reach. ![]() |
I haven't played any PS2 wrestling games (haven't played many PS2 games in general) but I have played the following WWF titles:
Warzone (N64/PS) Attitude (N64/PS) Smackdown! (PS) No Mercy (N64) I did my best, but I could never get into No Mercy for some reason. I actually prefer Acclaim's Warzone and Attitude titles, because I felt a little extra work should be done to pull off the special moves. Not in the case of Smackdown!, which I found over-rated. If the PlayStation 2 titles are anything like this, then I'll not look into them. I was wondering if you had played the Warzone and Attitude titles before No Mercy? I remember spending hours trying to get into the game, but to no avail. I was pants at the game, and the computer opponent on easy level had me beat most of the time. I have never found a bad review about WWF No Mercy. Seems like I'm the only one. Most amazing jew boots |

I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
Actually yes I have played Warzone and attitude, man those games were fun too. I loved knocking the guy out with the microphone because of the loud boom it would make over the speakers.
Although good games, it just felt a little too empty to me, whereas No Mercy had an abundance of moves, and you couldn't cheese D Lo Browns kick like i did in the previous games. I was speaking idiomatically. |
Me and my friends play (as a kind of side bullshit game) three Gamecube WWE games:
Wrestlemania 19, Day of Reckoning 1 and 2. I recommend them for fans of that. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? ![]() |

Wrestlemania 2000 and No Mercy were fun games.
*TIME FOR A FLASH BACK!!!* I still love the battle royal thing I did. We put forty guys in there and me and my friend were a team until there were three guys left. I then, let me friend knock the other opponent through the ropes and begin to leer close to him. Then, the jerk that I am, ran and clothesline him from behind that threw my friend up and over the top rope. I then merely ran into the other opponent, knocking him off the ring apron to become the victor. Good times. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
The only wrestling game I can remember being worthwhile for any system was Royal Rumble for the SNES. It had a lot of the big stars at the time, plenty of game modes and it was a lot of fun to play with your friends. And, I could be wrong, but I seem to remember it being the first wrestling console game where you could use the Multitap.
Jam it back in, in the dark.

And yet all the games mentioned whether it was no mercy, attitude or royal rumble were ALL for a nintendo system......I think I proved my point.
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Yeah, that's great that you got people in a Nintendo forum to say that Nintendo games are the best.
Since you "proved your point", I'll close the thread. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.
