Osu Tatake Ouendan comes to mind immediately.. You could also try out Band Bros and its expansion. There's also the sequel to Jump Super Stars, which is Jump Ultimate Stars!

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Yeah I already know about Ouendan and Ultimate but is Band Bros different from Hiite Utaeru DS Guitar?
Kaitou Wario the Seven and Ochaken no Heya DS 2 also look very interesting to me.

How ya doing, buddy?

You could try the Densetsu no Stafy series. It's like Kirby, except underwater and you play as a starfish. It's really fun.

How ya doing, buddy?

Ochaken is basically a japanese Nintendogs which isn't all that interesting. Hiite is boring as hell, too.

Ouendan, Legend of Stafi 4 and Daigasso are the best japanese DS games. Rhythm Tengoku is also a great GBA game.

I was speaking idiomatically.

I'd recommend the "bit Generations" GBA games.

YouTube Video

Very stylised, great music. Simple, retro and rewarding.

Dragon Ball: Advanced Adventure. Awesome game. Although it's out here, all the music from the anime have been replaced with generic stuff, which sucks. I have yet to get it myself.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?
