Being logged into a temporary account
As the topic says, I think I have been logged into a temporary account created by Windows on startup. The reason being that everytime I restart the computer I lose all of my settings, anything saved on the desktop etc.
Also in C:\Documents and Settings I have three folders, one called All Users and one named as my old profile, however as of this morning there is now another folder there called TEMP. I suspect my original profile file has been corrupted somehow, perhaps from not switching the computer off properly. Since this morning I've tried to create a new account but Windows still seems to log me into this temporary account. Has anyone encountered this before and is there a remedy that doesn't involve me formatting the hard-drive? Jam it back in, in the dark. |
I'm going to ask the million-dollar question.
What version of Windows are you running? This might be important, at least to me. There's nowhere I can't reach. |

Sorry I'm running Windows XP, but I tried creating another profile and tried it out and it just happened to work, I guess I didn't test properly this morning. Sorry.
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
