My posts keeps getting deleted!

Hey there!

In the XBOX 360 discussion thread, whenever I post, it gets deleted all of a sudden.

Elsewhere, no problem, but in this particular thread, someone's having fun deleting my posts.

What gives?

Thanks in advance!

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Not at all. I know how to behave, bud. The first post that was deleted was because I thought it was childish to write Microsoft with a $ sign. Then it got deleted and another member noticed so I asked why it was deleted. That post was gone an hour later and last night I posted that it was gone again and this morning when I woke up, I wrote back and it just dissapeared.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Hum. Okay.

But the thing is, the guy who wrote Microsoft with a $ sign was trying to get a point across his post instead of the usual 'M$'s gay'. I simply told him that it was childish and even after my post was deleted, another member agreed with my point and wrote a bit more.

So, what's what?

I was speaking idiomatically.

Because if I can't point that out (and I did it with more "content" in my post,) nobody does.

Constantly making posts that say "hey, my post was deleted" is a good way to get those posts deleted, too.

I asked two times why it was deleted.

And to be honest, I don't think asking two times why your posts have been deleting would be against regulations. If they were deleted for a reason, then I wasn't informed of this. It's uncalled for and extremely unprofessional.

mods don't have to tell people when they delete posts, or else they would be very busy since there are many bad posts apearing all over

Yes, this is a perfectly reasonable post to have in a thread discussing XBox 360. I can't think of any reason why someone might delete it. Can you?

Posts get deleted. Read some threads and figure out why. If you can't, then we could suggest a few alternate message boards for you to visit.

In regards to the posts that were deleted about the "M$FT" comment, my opinion is that the posters are overreacting nitpickers. The person who wrote "M$FT" obviously wasn't anti-Microsoft considering he has his fucking Xbox 360 gamer card in his signature. It was a common (and in this context, innocuous) usage that got blown out of proportion. Then the posts that attempted to combat the "troll" were in fact trolling themselves, and most significantly, derailing the thread.

Suck it.

I was speaking idiomatically.

Oh, I'm not complaining about my post.

I think I would have been outraged if it didn't get deleted.

I laughed when I saw that it was deleted, actually.

I agree. In fact, if that staff member walks away making even more than 1% of what he was making beforehand, we should consider him lucky.

In a 360 topic, nothing. But if you look at it in the way that it's a topic IN a forum community, havic one question and one reply, no more, on that subject, may have made some people learn about the way the forums work (Ex: Your post may get deleted without you knowing it for a reason.)

Of course, since every person passing through our doors runs off to check the Xbox 360 thread first, having a Q&A session regarding forum etiquette in it would make perfect sense. Why don't we throw in some Iraq war debate, your favorite ramen flavor and an FTP listing or two while we're at it?

You have a beef with the staff, PM an admin (or all admins at once, which the multi-PM limit of 5 will certainly allow you to do. Shit, make a thread in Board Support if you must, but people will laugh at you. Just don't take it to a regular discussion thread, since of course your question will be deemed off-topic and deleted.

See, most users are smart enough to realize that their posts getting deleted means that they're making shitty posts. We don't cater to morons around here, we expect you to figure this out on your own. Or to do something intelligent like PM a mod asking about it, if you really can't imagine why.

Also, I hope you realize the irony inherent in you saying that this thread is beating a dead horse, yet you're still continuing to try to defend yourself.

Not really, you repeating the same thing which NYRSkate already explained a day or two later is the 'beating the dead horse' part.

Thanks anyway.
