Sin -- Episode 1

Anyone got around to playing this yet? I am tempted to buy it at the nice price of $19.99 but i have no deffinate opition on it and i cannot try a demo, i think i might play it at a friends house to see if i like it but i am hesitent on just buying before i play. It looks good and am told you get your every dollars worth but i rather hear from the folks at GamingForce. So tell me...comments?

CC is gonna have it for $15 next week, so I'd wait and buy it there.

I'm probably buying it, but I might be buying a 360 this weekend, and if I do I might spend all my money on games.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

It's...okay. It looks and plays like a mediocre HL2 mod.

Their characters, environments and animations aren't on par with HL2's. (aside from the ones they used right out of HL2) They're more reminiscent of Vampire the Masquerade's, actually. And for some reason it slows down in wierd places, slower than HL2's big open areas (like the crane bit)

Gameplay is standard FPS. Kill guys, don't die, unlock this door, climb through this vent, etc.

I don't know if it was worth the 20 bucks myself.

Well, from the sound of it, i like it ^_^ i like a good looking old fashioned style FPS sometimes, and for $20, it only interveens with wither to get HL:Ep1 or SiN:Ep1, obviously the smart choice is HL:Ep1. I will decide if someone can prove to me which is better! ;D

Is this game any similar to Perfect Dark? It looks like they tried to make a Johanna dark clone, but is the game itself any similar?

I'm downloading it right now, but i don't have much hope. Not since i played No One Lives Forever.

The concept sounds interesting, have each chapter, or episode play out depending on the largest choices made by the players in ther previous episode.

I have three complaints:
1. Steam - I dislike the steam application, and unlike HL2, this game will probably garner a more extensive use of the nearly obligatory online connection/"validation feature".

2. Price per episode - I understand Valve needs to pay the bills and make money... but 20 bucks for 6 hours of gameplay seems a bit high. maybe 10-15 dollars would bring in more customers. They could even have the first episode cheaper as an incentive, or throw out a demo (if they haven't).

3. The Community-driven outcomes will eliminate the players who use different tactics to play through the level, and will push towards a "this is how the majority did it, so you have to as well" mentality. This is mostly speculation and educated guesing, as they said they still need to determine the extent of the outcomes (I am relieved that they at least acknowledged this possible problem and are addressing it).

is there a good seeded torrent out? I'll at least try it out before making a final judgement.

Yea, that is the one thing i hate about Steam, since everything has to be validated it is hard to download a game and play it without having to validate it. It is kinda annoying but on the plus side almost all Valve games are pretty damn good. As for the price, a agree that it is kinda expensive and i will probably buy it once the second episode comes out. might be cheaper then...

Well, I've played the game today and it's quite decent. Not the best of 2006 for sure, but at least not the worst. The song in the title screen is exelent. I'm not really into pop music but who is singing?

Fortunately, I downloaded a retail version or something that doesn't need steam to play and it's the full game. Downloaded from Emule if anyone is interested.

I'm gonna give this game a shot, it doesn't really look that bad...

Well I finished it today and I'm pretty underwhelmed. I can't say it was worth 20bux and I certainly won't be buying the next episode.
