F-Zero GX/AX OST (SCDC 00358-359)
The release of F-Zero GX/AX OSTs by Daiki Kasho with lyrics by Alan Brey, Tetsu, and Nick Morishi is a perfect example of VGM that has reached 200% in sound quality and sounds like asanoganawa throughout the entire soundtracks. Overall, the soundtracks styles are hard rock and techno, and every song is amazing in terms of sound quality and compositions. The vocal songs are refreshing in that they sound very professional and liven up the soundtrack with a refreshing twist on conventional VGM.
So far, the best songs from AX are: Captain Falcon Octoman Billy Jack Levin Pheonix 8/5 How ya doing, buddy? |
I really, really like Doctor Stuart's theme. It's catchy as hell.
Phoenix's is also amazing. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
To be honest, I couldn't care less about Disc 1. It's Hidenori Shoji's work on Disc 2 that's fantastic. These are songs that pump your adrenaline; you could be standing (sitting, whatever) there like a lead weight listening to the songs, and they will still fill you with UNLIMITED POWER.
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. ![]() |
Hidenori Shoji isn't in the credits of F-Zero GX/AX.
I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
I was speaking idiomatically. ![]() |
Personally, I like both discs, and couldn't pick one over the other. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |

A lot of tracks are really interesting on the CD (usually the ones of the characters I like haha.)
Jody Summers has some pretty catchy guitar work. Dr. Stuart is a great trance-y track. Samurai Goroh's track is hilarious. I love that scream thing @ 51 seconds. Antonio Guster's is pretty cool industrial type videogame music. Leon's is perfect for watching replays to. Lily's is intense work. PJ and QQQ are also hilarious tracks, fit the characters perfectly <3 and of course, Phoenix's is awesome. Lots of different diverse types of music on this album: from hard rock to trance to just weirdass catchy music. Very short tracks leave you wanting more if satisfied, but also minimize the pain for the bad tracks :P FELIPE NO

Heh, I'm with Darkcomet72. Disc one didn't do much for me, except for the occasional Dr. Stewart and Digi-Boy themes. Fun stuff. Disc two had all my favorite tracks, as Darkcomet said the music gave you a certain rush. Whatever it was it only helped the game's sense of speed.
Overall its a amazing soundtrack with a good variety of techno and rock (intentionally cheezy as hell too.) I still pop this soundtrack in my car from time to time =D. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
Very good soundtrack in my opinion, though it doesn't out shine F-Zero X's soundtrack at the end of the day.
I didn't like the departure from power rock/heavy metal for the F-Zero series too much at first, but then this techno/trance style grew on thanks to tracks like "One Ahead System". The character themes are definitely well-done! Excellent covers of the classic F-Zero compositions too. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
Wark! |
I don't find the soundquality especially good... in fact very mediocre. The sound IS WAY TOO LOUD like a lot of nowadays CDs. It clips all over the place. Massive dynamic compression is used, which destroys all detail in the sound. I don't like this "constantly in your face" sound. IT'S VERY ANNOYING LIKE CONSTANT CAPS IN TEXTS. But I guess it fits the Gamecube's sound hardware, which is also very bad.
It's a great album otherwise. Thx for reading this ranting ![]() There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Ah, i have problems with this album... when F-Zero GX was released i run to saw it on stores not only for the game... but also for the music, i was waiting for a new heavy rock soundtrack as F-Zero X was (one of my favorites VG soundtracks of all times) but... there was techno!
Anyway, love the original "Ranking" F-Zero song remix! and some songs like Billy (the ape of the universe) This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
