evga 7600gt video card help

i just bought this card today and i stuck it in the pci-e slot. THe problem is that my comp doesn't detect it. I've tried disabling my integrated gpu from my motherboard, but my comp still doesn't detect it. The fan is spinning too so i think i connected it properly. Also the case i'm using has a 420 watt powersupply. The card says i need 400w, so i dont think it has something to do with the power either.

ok also when i connect the vga to the video card, my monitor goes black. I've already disabled my integrated video card too.

How ya doing, buddy?

RMA it, it sounds as if you may have gotten a broken one so take it back.

Also I know you said you have disabled the onboard GPU, but make sure you also set the primary display adapter as Pci-e in the bios.

And of course make sure the card is seated properly and that if it requires an additional power input make sure that is connected properly too.

Out of curiosity I know the screen is blank and you can't see anything, but is the computer booting up into Windows? You can usually tell if the hardrive light is showing activity.

But I think that you have gotten a damaged card, its happened to me in the past so I suggest returning it.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.
