How many fluid ounces do you drink?
Starbucks announces their new 31-oz. size cup, source here.
more frivolous 'beef' I have w/ the chain that has nothing to do with the topic:

This actually made me wonder how large Big Gulps are.
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
When I heard the news about the Trenta, I had two reactions:
1) If you need that much coffee, get some fucking sleep instead. 2) The price for it is actually reasonable. Its only 50 cents more than a vente, which puts it at a decent price compared to the other sizes. I know this doesn't justify it, but it was the only shining light I could find. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
I drink about 60-80 ounces of water a day; about 3-4 20 oz coke bottles that I tote around to work and in the car. All of that is recycled and refilled coke bottles with tap water that has been sitting in the fridge for added chill. (I'm a big water drinker)
I do not buy drinks from places unless it's a special occasion or as a reward for hard work. (I shoveled my father's driveway out this past weekend alone, unasked. My reward was a medium Dunkin Donuts iced coffee) I really don't buy anything at Starbucks because I feel they're full of overpriced pretentious bullshit. Once a year, I may get a peppermint mocha coffee, but that's about it. I could be biased, being a New Englander with a DD on every goddamn corner. I also own a coffee maker, so unless it's an odd hour and I want a pick-me-up, I don't buy coffee. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
I drink at most 32 fl oz of water everyday and absolutely nothing else. Anymore than that I'll be peeing every 2 hours.
![]() And yes, when I told James about this Trenta he thought it was a joke but no, he still haven't ordered in one. He always get his fucking venti over there. The man doesn't know how to quit starbucks in general. I was speaking idiomatically. |
I would estimate that that I consume between 96 ounces to a gallon of fluid in a given day. Before my surgery, that might have been a tad excessive but I think its pretty much what I should be drinking.
My pee is always clear. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
I hate paying for coffee anywhere other than the grocery store and I make the only daily coffee fix I need at home. There was a time when I couldn't go without 2-3 cups of coffee a day. Now I have an espresso maker at home and I make myself a single cup (about 10 oz. maybe?) in the morning and that gets me through the day just fine. It took a LONG time to get my dependency on coffee down and I noticed it went down right around the time I quit smoking, which was like kicking babies in the teeth at an orphanage while in the presence of your mother.
Other fluids I do consume on a regular basis, however, are water and sometimes soda. I probably go through about 66 oz. of water a day. (I drink about two 33 oz. bottles of "Smart Water". Not that I buy the bottled water; that's just retarded. I've just been using the same container for months and I just keep rinsing it out to keep water in my backpack or in my office at work. I used to not drink soda as well, but I've recently started drinking a little bit of soda when I'm having BBQ at the house or something. (It takes me about 3-4 weeks to go through a 12-pack of Dr. Pepper.) Beer? Well... That's another thread topic that will probably be titled "GFF INTERVENTION: YOUR DRINKING HAS AFFECTED YOUR ONLINE SOCIAL PERSONA NEGATIVELY IN THE FOLLOWING WAYS..." Most amazing jew boots

I figure I drink around that much coffee in a day. I have a coffee mug that fits about 12-14 ounces of coffee in it, and I normally drink two of those cups in a day. If I get up particularly early and have a good load of work to do, I might get a third one at some point.
In my first few years of university I drank about twice that amount, but nowadays I can hardly sleep if more than one of my coffees is caffeinated. I guess I've learned how to sip it more than chug it. I also drink about one and a half to two times that amount of water a day. The thing with this big drink is that I can't imagine it being too practical to carry around. The worst part would be trying to get it into a car's cup-holder. If your going to be setting it down somewhere while your doing something or sharing it with someone, I can see that it might not be such a bad idea. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? ![]() Juggle dammit |
I have a 32oz Nalgene bottle (for water) that I empty two/three times a day.
That much coffee would have me hovering around the washroom all day needing to pee though. One or two 8-oz cups is all I can take in terms of caffeine a day. ETA:

Uh. Gotta do the head-math here... Somewheres around 100-125fl oz per day. I have two Camelbak bottles that hold 24fl oz, but filled up to near the brim probably puts it at 25.
Wake up, work out, drink a bottle's worth across the morning. Refill, do the same in the afternoon. Come home, refill it two or three times past that. There's nowhere I can't reach.
Hey, maybe you should try that thing Chie was talking about.

It's hard for me to calculate because I don't often finish the bottle I'm drinking. I have a 25-30oz bottle at my desk at work that I sip throughout the day, I have water with lunch and dinner, and I have another bottle that I carry with me on the train, and one on my bedside table.

My daily intake is approximately 3 liters (a little over 100 fluid ounces).
Water, of course. No tolerance at all for coffee. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
Wark! |
roughly about a liter of water and then 2 liters of soda XD
gets me hyperactive the whole day. Additional Spam: hey wait i did not say "cheers" whats wrong here? How ya doing, buddy?

Water's good. Soda? Nah uh. Sugar rush ain't good.
For me, about 1.5 to 2L of water everyday. I extend it to 3L/3.5L when involved in extensive physical activity. Half a litre on dairy; probably less than that on occasion. Not too much on soda; cutting it down. Same with coffee and hot chocolate. Alcohol? Less than that. Cutting down on it as well. About 1L average is what I can consume. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? ![]() |
Americans talking in litres? hohoho
I think I´m around 2 litres a day, when i used to work out i was easily around 4-5. A litre or two went down duringt the workout itself (it was intense bro) and the rest was during food and just recovering during the day. Only time I get up to that amount these days is when I´m hungover. no homo |
They're talking in litres but they can't spell it right.
I drink a lot of water, probably about 3 litres a day. I also get through at least five cups of tea a day but I am British so that's expected. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? ![]() ![]() |
(Remind me again why we ever took lessons of any type from the guys whose idea of camouflage during wars was to wear RED COATS?) Jam it back in, in the dark. |
I don't know how people can measure in ounces. I drink around 4-6 litres of water a day. Maybe more if I get hungry at work. I get a cup or two of coffee, but that's it. And some soda on the weekends. I haven't had any alcohol for almost 7 months.
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
It's easy, Vemp. One litre of water weighs exactly one kilogramme. There are 35.27396583786957 ounces in a kilo so all you have to do is look at the volume of drink you have, make an adjustment for the relative density of what you're drinking compared to water to work out the weight in kilos then multiply that amount by 35.27396583786957 to find the weight in ounces, simple mental arithmatic really.
Either that or live in a weird country where people measure liquids by weight rather than volume. Probably the same kind of country that would use an arbitrary measurement like "Cups" for ingredients in a recipe and use bright blue jackets for camouflage, probably in an attempt to look like French people. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. ![]() ![]() |
aww shit #shots fired.
West coast east coast bang bang On topic; got this 0,5L water bottle at work that i keep refilling, my bladder is really bad too so I got to piss all the time. The assistant next to the bathroom as started looking at me weirdly lol, must think I got diarreha or something. no homo |
I just know I drink a lot of water.
I was speaking idiomatically. |
Somewhere in the 60+ range, but I don't feel like it's enough. Especially since part of that daily volume is made up of drinks which aren't quite 'pure hydration' like pure water is.
I don't go to Starbucks, and there's no way I could ever drink a Trenta coffee. I have like, one or two cups a day. Most amazing jew boots ![]() |
(PS, a fluid ounce is a measure of volume; an ounce is a measure of force. Also, what's with you metric people mixing up weight and mass?) FELIPE NO
