Who wants to start taking bets on what day Megalith turns on this game and says it's utter shit?

On a topical note, never had the chance to play the original game, it never appeared in my city for some reason or another. From what it seems though it had a solid storyline and was entertaining...so leave it up to a bunch of people and their GTA clones to not let an original idea become the least bit popular.

"Cliffhanger ending" eh? Breakdown had one of those, and hardly any sales as well...why can't we get that game a sequel?

Although it's apparently for a next generation console, a BG&E sequel would still be justice in a can. I really, really loved the original (waited ages for the GC version). It was mix previous and familiar genres, but the execution and design was masterful.

One of the few games I could easily call utterly charming and while Jade's top was slightly revealing, she was still an overly welcome change from the usually tacky female game protagonists.

Much, much respect to Ancel and co. and I hope they get a chance to make the sequel the way they want.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

<3 Justice indeed.

I sooooo fell in love with the first one. I should play through it again...

Yeah, the first game was awesome. Hooked me for an entire week until I beat it.

I wouldn't be surprised if Ancel uses favorable sales of King Kong or something to fuel production in BG&E 2. I really hope this is true, because I had lost a lot of hope in a second game due to this one's poor sales.

BG&E is one of the best platformers of the current generation, probably Top 5 of what appeared on the PS2. I'd be pleased if this came out. That game came out when Ubisoft had a very good run going for itself, I got it and the first of the new Prince of Persia games for $20.

I'm not a fan of most adventure games, but Beyond Good and Evil was pretty fun. I'm glad they might be making a sequel, since they originally planned to make it a trilogy anyway from what I heard (like the new Prince of Persia games were made to be).

lol Halo 2 lol.

Good to hear it'll be on a next gen console, too. I'm guessing it's going to be multi platform like the original, so no worries there.

This game is on basically every single "Great Games Nobody Bothered to Play" list out there. If it's anything like the first it's going to be amazing, and if next generation consoles have their own titles which stand over Beyond Good & Evil, it could pull a repeat of the first. It's really a shame because the game deserves more respect.

Not for that reason; it comes as a surprise considering how poorly the first game sold.

Yeah, there's plenty of games which were intended to continue, but plans changed (Shenmue III ;_;). Ancel has often said he'd love to do it, so hopefully he gets the funding for it.

A second one? Well, i never finished the first one before selling it (that hover craft bit towards the end got on my nerves) so i don't know what happened. Would someone care to enlighten me with a spoiler?

If this goes forward, i'll wait for it to go down in price...alot.

Wh-what? Lies! ;__; Shenmue III *IS* coming... Right? =(

Egh. Shenmue III's not being released is a bigger travesty than only one third of the Shining Force games on Saturn being translated... *trounces off to sfcentral to see how the translation is going*

It's good to see a sleeper hit that got passed over is getting a second chance. On a next-gen system, nontheless. There'll be few games and its glory won't be hogged. Very nice.

Easily worth the $30 I paid for it. I would have paid full price knowing what I do now. I'm curious, though, how long the production time will be if it's for next-gen consoles, and exactly which consoles it will be on.

In any event, I hope they have Christophe Heral come back for the soundtrack as well. That would be just dreamy.

Excellent news. I recently re-beat the game. As repetitive as the last third of the game is (particularly all the sneaking around), it was still a great game.

I'm sure Ancel will do it justice. I'd like to see Heral return, myself. Can't beat those battle themes.

Guess this means I should bite the bullet and go ahead and buy the first game. Is there a specific system I should buy it for? I have all three, and would want to get the best version.

cubed: I actually took the time and BOUGHT the PC Version in stores, and Its been really fun for the portion I played through. Although I admit, I did run into difficulties a few times... it was however a very original game.

I am very excited to hear about this

I bought it on gamecube cause my computer is shitty.... and once I beat it, I didn't see why I should go and play it again. It was pretty short. But for 20$ (yep 20$ CAD when it was released here :P) I won't complain much... The music kicks ass. I expect a lot for the sequel, that's all.

No gamepad support = no thankee, sai. It looks better as far as resolution goes, but a lot of the effects weren't working properly in the version I was playing. Buggy enough to be noticable, and like I said, keyboard and mouse is not the way to go for a game like this that often has you pushing multiple buttons at once. (For instance, crouching and moving diagonally. And then trying to take a picture.)

I probably will end up buying it if I see it somewhere, just so I can have the best-looking version, but I'd definitely prefer a console version just for the control issues.

Skexis: I had no problem with the Joypad, and if you want to use a gamepad, download Joy2Key (Google it), which IIRC, lets you assign any keyboard or mouse button, as well as gamepad support, to whatever game you're playing.

I paid 19.95 for a NEW copy of the game, which seems about right. Its a lot better then 59.95 for some new console game at least.

I have mine for the PS2 and it is of superb quality. You might want to try that version.

As for the game itself, I am very pleased to hear this. I loved the first game and since it had a lot of hispanic influence, I made it the point of one of my school projects. I believe that I need to download the sound track to the first game *music plays in head*. I really liked the way the whole game flowed and the vehicle part was good.

All in all I really liked the game and I do hope it comes out soon.
