Major props to ikkei and Klondike; I had those Fantasy Earth and Danny Baranowsky titles in my nom queue. I have to say that I'm not sure about Crash's nom, though; much as I like Cyndi Lauper, the fact that it's an adaptation of a movie song makes me uneasy. Maybe I'm the only one. Anyhoo:

Accele Brid (Game Rip) - Main Menu Not as fast-paced as the "accele" would suggest, it's nevertheless a solid bit of SNESin'.

Atelier Elie ~Alchemist of Sarlburg 2~ Original Game Soundtrack - Sad Vampire This has all the Gothic chops I'd expect for bloodsucker music, and if it's not the strongest such music ever it at least acquits itself admirably.

Baten Kaitos ~Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean~ Original Soundtrack - House of Cards Well at least no one can accuse this of being the same old Motoi. Sadly, it's pretty dull in spite of using some interesting instruments--probably another song that works better in the game than as a standalone listen.

Immortal 2 - Battle Squadron Not at all what I expected; not very fond of the vox (no, I don't want to play a game) but the 80's style electronics are excellent. Kind of long though; could easily be cut in half without sacrificing any content.

Jetpac Refuelled - Jetpac Alternate Theme 4 Hard to believe that this is the only other VGM credit of Steve Burke, who wrote Kameo. It's a nice punchy bit of synth that, while not spectacular, is nevertheless pretty fun.

Shock Troopers 2nd Squad - Dark Matter (Boss A) The third synthy track in a row is also the weakest--there are some neat rhythmic tricks but otherwise it's a wasteland.

ToBi D+VINE Complete Sound track - PoFoo! This takes the sound of Immortal and does it one better by presenting an excellent melody. Quite good, and the likely winner this week.

www. richardjacques. com - Starship Troopers Suite While this does contain the standard drum beats you'd expect from a wargame track, it's also got a strongly triumphant feel and a few sections of contemplative sci-fi beauty reminiscent of Basil Poledouris.

This was a pretty good week; I wanted to give points to a lot more tracks than I actually did, especially the stage 1 theme from Bike Banditz the PoFoo! arrangement.

If you're a fan of the beat arranging, then I'd highly recommend the album, particularly for the first game's soundtrack. There's a number cheesy hard rock melodies thrown into the mix, as well. Personally, I'm a huge fan of the entire album and I actually had trouble singling out a track to represent it in SotW. I might nominate something from the second game very soon, even.
