Name Your Favorite Forest Themes

I'm toying with the idea of putting together a CD of the best forest themes, and I'm looking for suggestions. Creativity welcome in your selections (doesn't necessarily have to be a "classic" forest theme, but at least have some sort of link). I'll save everybody an obvious one.

Probably Golmore Jungle from FFXII. It starts off with a hint of mysteriousness and uncertainty, and then suddenly evolves into something much more threatening and dangerous (which is my favorite part of the song) toward the end of the loop.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Hm, interesting idea! I've got a few suggestions off the top of my head:

Ys VI - Quatera Woods
Dark Chronicle - Rainbow Butterfly Wood
Archaic Sealed Heat - People of the Forest
Odin Sphere - Battle in the Forest of the Witch (the calm one)
Final Fantasy X - Silence Before the Storm
Icewind Dale - Kuldahar
Fable - Witchwood, Greatwood

I'll probably think of some more later.

There are plenty of nice forest themes.

I like the ones from Studio e.go! games in particular:
Get the Flash Player to play this audio file: Forest of Suspicion from IZUMO
Get the Flash Player to play this audio file: Progressing Through Futashiki Forest from Men at Work! 4

And if you're into Snes ones, listen to "Where is this Place? I am the Forest!" from Mystic Ark.

How ya doing, buddy?

Forest themes are usually pretty good indeed, often mysterious and calm. Here's some I can come up with:

Legaia: Duel Saga - Lost Forest
Death Smiles - Lost Forest
Chrono Cross - Shadow's End Forest
Breath of Fire III - Falling Green
Cross Hermit - Voice of the Forest
Suikoden - Mysterious Forest
Ragnarok Online - Peaceful Forest
Cho Aniki - Big Brother of the Forest
Shadow Madness - Forestgrove
A Bug's Life - Assemble the Bird (Clover Forest)
Astérix (PSX) - The Forest
Donkey Kong Country - Forest Frenzy
DKC2 - Forest Interlude
Kameo - Forest Glade
SimAnimals - Forest Song (End Credits)
The Nations - Forest Spirit
Hitman - Jungle Exploration
Two Worlds - Bot Moss Forest
Total Annihilation - Forest Green
Wheel of Time - Forest For The Trees

Ar tonelico II~Sekai ni Hibiku Shoujotachi no Metafalica~ - Forest of Illusion
Banjo Kazooie - Click Clock Wood
DKC - Jungle Groove
DKC - Treetop Rock
Duck Tales - The Amazon
Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion - Through the Valley/Harvest Dawn/King and Country/Wings of Kynareth
^ While these are admittedly "overworld" pieces of music, there were enough times in game where I was traversing forests with their accompaniment that I thought them worth mentioning.
Final Fantasy IX - Awakened Forest
Halo - A Walk in the Woods
Jak II - Haven Forest
Kirby - Forest Stage
LoZ OoT - Lost Woods
Mushimesama - Shinju Heading To the Forest (arranged)
Psychonauts - Whispering Rock Psychic Summer Camp
Super Mario World - Forest of Illusion :P
Tekken Tag Tournament - Yoshimitsu Stage
Zwei!! - Kapaya Forest

For Rimo and BlindMonk: Do you really enjoy all of those forest themes, or are you just emptying your music folders? I want people's favorites.

(Sorry if the tone sounds petty. It's not.)

I certainly enjoy all of them or I wouldn't have mentioned them. Selective favorites, however... I see what you're asking now and I'd certainly limit it to DKC2's "Forest Interlude", Kirby's forest stage, and Psychonauts' "Summer Camp."

Honorary mention to Super Mario RPG's "Beware the Forest Mushrooms."

This better be a hidden track.

Yes. I actually listed only those I thought were better or more forest-ish in sound. But if I were to suggest only one, and that is not from popular games, I'd go with "Forestgrove" from Shadow Madness.

I don't have a very extensive collection of video game forest music, but I always did like Wonderland Woods from American Mcgee's Alice.

And I didn't even pick up on that joke until now. How about something from a Forrest Whitaker movie while we're at it.

My number one forest theme is definitely Chrono Cross's "Forest of Cutting Shadows". Can't get enough of it.

I always liked the Forest of Illusion (I think that was its name) in Super Mario World on SNES (also on DS and GBA and various other consoles).

Also the forest at the start of Shadow Hearts on the PS2, sorry for vagueness, but im at work and dont have my games to hand at the moment.

The zelda forest theme from Link to the Past was always good too.
