New headset?
Well, my Speed Link Medusa is on its last limbs. The duct tape can only do so much for it, but the speaker on the right side is cutting in and out now.
Any ideas on a new headset with a microphone? I was dead set on getting the Fatal1ty pair, but I went to newegg and saw some reviews. Now I'm having second thoughts about it. The only preference I have is that they're circumaural (cover my ears completely) and it has a mic with it. Any ideas? Jam it back in, in the dark. |
I recommend the razer barracuda if you've got $100 to throw around. or you can get it on ebay for around $50 or so.
If you've got $50 to throw around I recommend audiofx force feedback. Be warned, listening to music on these things suck, but their rumble feature is great for gaming. I've had both and particularly enjoyed the barracuda, but i use my laptop now and only have 2 audio channel (yes these are 5.1 headphones, if you have a 5.1 card you can get surround sound in your head) Other recommendations are anything by sennheiser or logitech. There's nowhere I can't reach.

For me, Barracuda really bothered me with how it fit on my head, so I instead chose something else, in which turned out to be very nice at such a good price.
![]() At the price of $50 (I bought it for $29.99 when it was on sale), it really fits well on my head, plus it has stellar mic quality. Mind you, I am not a heavy user of headphone, and it is nowhere close to those expensive ones in terms of the extra functions. But it really gets the job done. I will leave the link at the bottom if you want to check it out: Newegg.com - PLANTRONICS GameCom 377 3.5mm Circumaural Gaming Headset p.s. Be aware that it doesn't have the USB connection, but you need to connect the headset directly to the PC microphone/sound input. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. ![]() Thanks to Minoko for such an awesome sig/ava combo! ![]() |
