Suggest a Videogame Cover Band

I don't want to dive headfirst into the 'Nerdcore' pool, but I may just want to do more than dip my toes. What videogame cover bands should I seek out, and why? I'm using bands loosely to include small pairs or groups of arrangers consistently putting out joint efforts. And don't give me The One Ups, I already know about them. Thanks.

They only have one album thus far, but you can always give Retro Remix Revue a shot.

Retro Remix Revue - New album now on iTunes and Amazon!

There are samples of the entire album on the site. I rather enjoy it.

How ya doing, buddy?

Magical Trick Society -HOME-

Would something like this qualify? I've liked at least one track from every one of their albums.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Armcannon. They're an awesome blend of just about every style but mainly metal. They have one album out so far, Legvacuum, and they are working on a second one now.

I always thought of Magical Trick Society as Doujin, but I guess the line gets blurred in cases like these.

You need to check out the work of these guys. His website is in portuguese, but if you click in "Discografia" link you will be able to listen/download to all his albums for free. 8bitinstrumental are worth a listen, they're quite profesional.

Other band which I find impressive is Powerglove, but his style is not for everyone. If you like heavy metal/hard rock versions of some classic game tunes, then check them out.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

You might like the Runaway Five. They do some awesome jazz arrangements although they do tend to improvise a lot and may stray away from the main melody. Still great stuff though and lots of it can be found on Youtube.

These guys are amazing. Their Green Hill Zone is the best version of that song I have ever heard.
