another PSP question (On MS)

Yes.. this is yet another PSP question from me. After one year of purchase, my PSP (or MS) is starting to show signs of old age.

I noticed for some reason that there are some game saves that get corrupted easily. Unlike the usual kind of game save corruption, the save files still appear with picture and all in the save data place in the psp. This has happened to me on some of the Japanese games I play.

I've re-played these 4 games more than thrice because of the save file problems. The dialogue gets soooo boring after the first two run throughs.....

All of these games I played in Japanese. The save data icon still appears normal until you try to load it. A messsage pops up saying the data can't be loaded. But I do have other game saves that still worked. These are the Japanese game saves that had no problem at all: Loco Roco, Crisis Core, Minna no Dokusho, Itadaki Street, Musou Orochi, so on and so forth...

So I was thinking... could this be fixed or does it depend on the game? It could also be my MS (<-- turning 1 year on Dec). Could this problem be caused by the transfer of the game from PC to PSP??

Just a note.. this has never happened on my English games OR my Korean games.

most likely you have problem with MS,you have fake or original?in psp is say support it or not?try full format.

Um.. it came with my psp. But I have doubts about its origins....Its weird though. The shop where I bought it says... 4 months warranty but the box of the MS says 5 years. btw, the MS is a Pro Duo 4gb High Speed. The box says "For use with PSP A utiliser avec" It has a shiny sticker on top (but I know that can also be duplicated). The memory stick duo adaptor says "Made in Japan".. as for the MS itself.. there is a sticker on it that has the date of purchase so.. If there might be a chance to change it....taking it off my void warranty.

About full format.. is that the same as the format selection in the PSP itself?? Or is there another way to format?

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

When it comes to the save game icons and images... Well, there's a reason for them showing up. If you ever load up your MS on your computer, you'll see that the icon and background images for each save are saved/loaded in separate files from the actual save data--so your save file could be corrupted for whatever reason, but the images could be fine.

As for formatting, you could do it with the PSP, or by using a card reader or something through your PC. [The other option is to put the MS in the PSP, and connect to your PC with USB so it shows up in 'My Computer'] and then using the Windows formatting tool of your choice to format the PSP drive. [Which is the memory stick, in this case.]

1-select folder in video or music then press triangle,choose information,must see like this:"MagicGate Supported" wil have original MS,if you see "MagicGate Unknown" will be MS duplicated.

2-full format not same selection in the PSP (this quick format).to do full format press right click in driver for MS then choose format,make sure uncheck quick format,also choose FAT (not FAT32 or NTFS)

if still got corrupt saves,use this two options:

1-try to change USB cable and UBS ports.
2-download Active Kill Disk Pro to law format for MS.(that if your MS is duplicated or have bad sector)

I'll try this out when I get to my computer.

Just in case it makes a difference... the game saves that can't load are easily erased. I've had a number of those game saves that can't be erased before....I think the death toll was around half my entire game save folder.

@RYU: I can't seem to find this.. I go into either music or video. Go to a folder, press triangle, then information. I only get the folder name tracks/videos, then size.

Also.. there is no other settings other than FAT32 in my format menu.

looks like its getting worse......in the middle of games, it suddenly says that it can't access the MS. My MS is definitely a fake.. I crossed checked in a Sony shop. A 4gb High Speed MS is around 6k php. My PSP bundle cost around 12k php. Also.. I noticed that the letters written on the MS got erased. I think I might end up buying a new MS (X.X).

I also did a quick experiment... looks like quicksaves gets corrupted right after I save.. but if the save is a normal one.. it stays fixed longer.
