Auto Assault

Well this game comes out in two days, and I'm sorta excited for it. I dont' know enough about it to determine whether or not I"ll buy it, but it looks very promising to me.

Anyone here in the beta recently or now and could let us know some more details?

Yeah, I've been in beta for quite a while.

The game is a mix of twitch-based and stat-based, meaning you have to drive your car and aim, but when you fire at an enemy dice rolls do occur to see if you hit or miss.

There are three races involved, Humans, Mutants, and Biomeks. For each you will start out doing PVE missions, then when you get to Ground Zero near the end game you have the option of doing PVP against players of the other races or continuing to do PVE missions. Ground Zero has two instance layers, a PVP and a PVE. In the PVP instance, the three races fight to control territory by capturing bases. Owning a base gives a race-wide bonus.

Each race has 4 classes, which are similar between the different races, but still have different skills.

Fighter Types: Can take a lot of damage and mainly have passive skills or skills that boost their weapon damage. Also the only class that can use large weapons.

Healer Types: Can heal themselves and others. They also have a lot of buff skills.

Summoner Types: Get most of their damage from summoning pets. Also have a lot of buffs.

Scout Types: Have the ability to cloak. Have a lot of direct damage nuke skills. Have a lot of debuffs. Also the only class that use small weapons.

The crafting system is pretty deep, involving the repair and enhancement of broken items. There are also crafting skills that allow for breaking a funtional item in the hopes of repairing it with an improvement.

The leveling goes pretty fast in this game. The head-start period for pre-order customers has been going for 2 days, and I am already level 24.

This game is fairly graphics intensive, and may not run very well on some older systems. It has a good physics engine too.

The game is definately not aimed at the typical MMORPG gamer, as the setting and gameplay are completely out of the ordinary. The scenery and backstory are quite good though, and the plot as you advance through missions is also rather interesting.

As far as the state of the game goes, it's probably not quite ready for release, but I guess that's normal for an MMORPG. They have been fixing a lot of things lately, and I expect they will continue to patch a lot into the beginning of retail. Throughout beta the devs have been pretty good about listening to testers, so I have high hopes for the game.

Just one more thing of interest, Carnage is the server all the big clans have picked, so if you want to get involved in some massive clan rivalries, that's the place to be.

Also, a shameless plug for my clan. If you plan on being a Biomech, the 1st Mechanized Infantry are a very large, friendly clan, and we plan on dominating. www.1stmi.com

How ya doing, buddy?

I play the beat, didn,t like it at all, the graphic are pretty ugly and really intensive ( I just don't like to have so much on screen and that it look like bullshit, you need a very good PC for it and it doesn't even look good)

the physic is a little weird, what I wanted the most in this game was just to enjoy driving at full speed and it's pretty disappointing. I didn't have fun at all to drive those vehicule, the way they react is a little weird >.>

and the havoc system (the thing that when you fire or run into a building it destroy it) is not as good as you see it in video. I tried to run in building and to the little wall i ust hit, it took at least 5 sec to react and to fall reallly slowly >.> and po good I hate all those graphical glitch! come on i'm drive in a feild of rock but I drive right trough those rock and the physic doesn,t react (which mean that even if there's plenty of rock on the ground, when you driving it's like they are not here >.>) I know it was a beta but I played in march and for a game that is suppose to come out one month later, there's A LOT of bug and glitch.... Matrix online anyone? it feel almost the same thing >.>

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.
