Irfanview problem

I'm using the latest Irfanview. I'm having some problems opening some image files. I have a folder named in Korean with bunch of images inside them. When I try to open those image files inside that folder, I get an error message saying it is an unknown file format. However, when I move those images out of the folder named in Korea, it works fine.

I've tried opening the image using Windows Picture and Fax Viewer, and it works. Irfanview doesn't seem to know how to open Korea language files. And I can't find a language pack for it.

Help?

How ya doing, buddy?

I'm guessing you have a Korean language installed for your operating system? And wouldn't it work by renaming the folder in English characters? I haven't used that program in a long time and couldn't tell you how to have it register foreign characters.

How ya doing, buddy?

Seems like IrfanView has problems with Unicode. I would report this to the developer team.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I think it works in ver. 4.2, but you have to turn it on.

After install, you must enable it as follows :-

Options -- Properties/Settings -- Misc 1 -- check on "Use Unicode Plugin (at program start)
