[PSP] Figuring out what is wrong

Just recently I tried a new game on my PSP. The first time I tried it the error screen showed. I simply transferred the file again. I tried it again but this time the PSP turned off. I am not sure how to fix it. The site where I downloaded says the he/she tried the game in 4.01 m33-2. Mine is a 3.71 m33-3. Is the problem with the firmware?
Also recently I've been having memory stick problems, so I was wondering if that could also be the cause.
Two of my older games I currently have on the psp is working alright.
Can the problem be with the game file itself?

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Generally when they say things like 'tested on 4.01 m33-2', they mean that it will work on new firmwares. Generally they do that because they sometimes had problems with ISO/CSO'd games on new firmwares sometimes. It should still work on older ones, as long as you don't go back too far. 3.71 is pretty good, so I don't think that would be the issue.

If you say you have MS problems, that's probably what's wrong. Maybe try backing up your savegames and other content, and use the PSP to reformat it.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Ok I'll try it out. I found out about the MS problem when my save in djmax wouldn't load I checked all the saved data to find that almost half of my save datas were corrupted.

EDIT:
Finished formatting.. the game still doesn't work so I'll try getting from another source.

EDIT:
Still doesn't work. I looked around in the net and found a guy saying it only works on 4.01 ^^. The game is Hitman Reborn (JP) by the way.
