songoftheweek.info domain renewal

I definitely plan on renewing sotw.info, but I want to know if there's any demand for me to keep songoftheweek.info. The second domain name is a lot longer and hasn't been actively used for over a year to the best of my knowledge. It's really cheap to renew it, but I'll have to do it every year, and I'm wondering if we will still need it. Please post thoughts. Thanks.

All the links in the main post at least were changed some time ago as per your request. Are there even any links left that point to the old site?

Regardless, if you keep songoftheweek.info you should just make it a redirect (which, with my provider, is a cheaper option).

There's nowhere I can't reach.

That may allow us to maintain control over it at a cheaper cost. Who do you use?

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

GoDaddy, I think. I'll try and dig up the specifics in my inbox.

You find anything? I have one month remaining before it expires.

GoDaddy has .info domains going for $1.99 a year. However, I don't know how much money it would cost to transfer it. It may be worth it to transfer it over and pay for 5 years at that price to lock it in for a while.

I was speaking idiomatically.

I must have accidentally deleted the stuff they sent me; I can't find it. Sorry.

But I'm sure they'd be happy to send you details if you asked, and if you feel like ponying up.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

I talked to GoDaddy and the $1.99 deal is only good for the first year. The transfer is $6.99 and comes with a free year. This would save me money for two years. However, if I were to continue this for any longer, the price would be $9.99/yr. That's more than the $8.99/yr I pay with NameSecure. Plus I kinda trust NameSecure more than I do GoDaddy.

I guess it depends on how long I plan on keeping this domain. Nobody really seems to care if I cast it to the wind, so maybe I'll just transfer it to GoDaddy for now and then drop it in two years.

I don't really have experience on this except renewing the domain name for my choir's forums. In any case, I'm neutral about renewal of the songoftheweek.info domain name. I guess go with whichever domain name receives more traffic. I'm not sure about this but I suppose the songoftheweek.info domain name is also more descriptive than sotw.info and that might be a plus point to retain the songoftheweek.info domain name?

I suppose as for using NameSecure or GoDaddy, can go with GoDaddy for the first 2 years then if you decide to, switch back to NameSecure. I'm not sure if switching back to NameSecure incurs some sort of transfer fee that wipes out the cost savings with switching to GoDaddy in the first place, thereby making the GoDaddy switch less economical. In which case, I suppose stick with NameSecure. Hope I'm making sense.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?
I think therefore I am... I think.

I just renewed it with NameSecure. It was only 9$ (one year) and I don't feel like having to deal with two different registrars. I'll bring this topic up again next year.

Thanks for the help, everyone. =}

Jam it back in, in the dark.
