I DARE you to make less sense.

Although... is that a beehive on the side of that tricked out pickup? Is that actually a functional weapon?

Vigilante 8. AKA Twisted Metal's retarded cousin.

Guess it'll be good for a few fake laughs until TWISTED METAL 3 is released for PS3.

I'm assuming the disco guy also makes a comback with his special; getting probed by aliens. (or was that the hippies?) I can't seem to recall. Although it was fun for the two hours I had played at my friends place.

I don't think there's a special move where you get probed by hippies...

This is extremely awesome. Vigilante 8 is just plain good-natured wacky fun, with its colorful characters and vehicles. (Also, there is a back-story related to a gas crisis/shortage that's actually kind of interesting in a corny way.) It makes me seriously consider getting a 360, if they fix that 30% hardware failure rate. (And Uncle Sam doesn't take the shirt off my back this tax season.) I have Vigilante 8 and Vigilante 8: Second Offense for PS1, and I had V8: SO for Dreamcast but sold it only because the controls were horrid. I don't see how anyone plays racing/driving games on Dreamcast with that crazy analog stick.

This is good news for gaming...

Jam it back in, in the dark.

oh hay.

So there's been updates. Besides Convoy, there's Sid Burn now.

Like so, and xbox360fanboy says the game is about 90% done, and that it's on track for a spring release. Hopefully this sticks. Other than Ikaruga and maybe Aces of the Galaxy, that's about it for short term XBLA stuff of any interest.

Looks like John Torque's still in. We got bassquakes.

Whoa, for a second there I thought Activision took a break from its busy schedule of making stale Call of Duty and Tony Hawk games. Guess not, though. Nice that someone else got the license from them in order to actually do something with it.

Fuck yes. (John Torque was one of my favorite characters.)

Amazing to hear that Vigilante 8's coming back. All I need to hear is something about a new Road Rash and my day is completely made.

Edit: There's also 7 character pictures in the webpage's background. I think I see John Torque, Molo, Convoy and Sid Burn (We've seen their pictures already), Chassey Blue (could be a mistake), Dave (Again, could be a mistake) and another character, but I don't know who. That's seven. I'm thinking the eighth character is either Houston or Slick Clyde, but I'm probably wrong. xD

Actually, Slick Clyde was my guess based on a couple of the above pics and one of the new ones.

From what I can tell, we've got Convoy, Torque and Clyde in for the Vigilantes. (assuming Clyde is this guy):

For the Coyotes, we've got Molo, Sid Burn, and Beeswax.

There is this car here:

That I do not recognize. That is not Chassey Blue, I can confirm that. She was my character of choice, and I recall her car not looking like that. Could it be another shot of Torque?

If so, goign by the background, that leaves a small hatchback and a Van. Dave is the van, that rounds out the 4 Vigilantes, the 4th Coyote would be...Boogie? I can't remember what he drove and shot that Disco ball out of. Was it a hatchback?

In reply to the second picture you posted, I think it's Torque's car, too. Look at the hardtop, and look at the car using the bassquake. It looks like it's got that same oval cut on the side of the hardtop (Pretty hard to see, and it could just be me.).

Edit: Alright, stopped being lazy and took each character's picture from the background. xD There's seven there, leaving one unknown (Possibly Slick Clyde, Colonel Skills' guesses.)

From left to right, I see:

Molo (Coyote)
Convoy (Vigilante.)
Boogie (Coyote.) Thanks again, AniMechanic. ^_^
Sid Burn (Coyote.)
Dave possibly? (If it's him, then he's a Vigilante.)
Chassey Blue possibly? (If it's her, then she's a Vigilante.)
John Torque (Vigilante)

That leaves one spot up for more speculation.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

Boogie drove an AMC Gremlin, and that is definitely what that little hatchback in the background is.

Excellent! And the character I didn't know looks almost exactly like Boogie. Thanks much, AniMechanic. =D

I'm crossing my fingers for hover car DLC if this sells well. I've so missed blasting people across the map with Dallas 13's giant laser.

Glad I could help, Zakiller.

I just realized that if this launches in 2008 it'll be a 10 year anniversary. Man I feel old all of a sudden.

Anyways, time for more speculation. The green musclecar that has appeared in a couple screenshots has me wondering. Someone thought it might be Slick Clyde, but in the original game he drove a Bronco (lol, Clydesdale). It really looks a lot closer to Houston 3's ride, but I dunno why they would have changed the color.

Mega-bump, sorry, but I'm doing this because of the Vigilante 8 Arcade's site updates. (pictures spoiler tagged because of their size.) First, the characters.

Boogie/Leprechaun (Coyote).
Spoiler:

Chassey Blue/Piranha (Drifter).
Spoiler:

Molo/Incarcerator (Coyote).
Spoiler:

Secondly, a new stage, Meteor Crater, which is a combination of V8's Ghost Town, V8's Canyonlands and Second Offense's Meteor Crater. No giant space ant though.
Spoiler:

I'm guessing that orange van is Dave? xD

Also, I've checked around the site, and thanks to this, we know there's going to be future downloadable packs with characters. For those worrying about your favorite characters (or possibly even stages) not being in, there's still some hope. You will also be able to change five colors on the car and collect salvage points but the car's chassis won't be changing.

Hopefully, we'll be seeing this game in June or July. Can't wait to play it. =D

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.
