I.Q. Final Perfect Music File (SVWC-7015)
I.Q. Final Perfect Music File (SVWC-7015)
Composer: Takayuki Hattori I actually never have played Intelligent Qube. My extent of exposure to the game was watching a friend play it, perhaps on a demo disc, years back. Though I only watched, I also got to listen to its music as well. What little I could remember of it, I did actually enjoy. The uniqueness of this OST, to me, is in the fact that I don't know of any other OST with music that I use the word "intelligent" or "smart" to describe. It has it's subpar tracks, but it also has some really good ones, in my opinion. Overall rating: 3.5/5 Track listing: 01 Opening Chorus A short opening, but I like the flourish of vocals to it. 3/5 02 Sign This one's all right, but nothing really memorable to it. 2.5/5 03 The 1st Tide One of those "intelligent" tracks like I mentioned above, and one of my favorites. 4.5/5 04 Ecliptic A faster arrangement of "The 1st Tide". Very Good. I especially like the brass and vocals at 1'02" and 2'24". 5/5 05 Depths This one sounds mostly mellow. Decent, but nothing amazing. 2.5/5 06 Crisis Visit An okay song, with that urgent feel about it. 3/5 07 Courage and Hope This one's alright, but it's a little short as well. 3/5 08 Ending Chorus ~ Beginning of the Universe This one's a little odd to me, as the vocals will sound decent in one part and eerie in another. 3/5 09 Continental Shift It sounds like some kind of funeral dirge or something. A bit eerie up until the end. 2/5 10 4 Horned Tower This one sounds a bit on the strange side. Not much stands out aside from that. 2.5/5 11 The 2nd Tide Again, I like the "intelligent" sound of it. Another of my favorites. 4.5/5 12 Compass Points to the Future I like the fanfarish sound of this one. 4/5 13 Crisis Evasion I like the urgent feel about this one, and their short use of the vocals. 4/5 14 Theory Another of my favorites. It sounds fairly similar to "The 2nd Tide". 4.5/5 15 Battle to the Death Short. One of the average tracks on the OST in my mind. 2.5/5 16 March of the Dark Army This one's not really that great to me, either. I would almost say it sucks, but that's kind of stretching it. 1.5/5 17 Pharoah's Treasure Not really anything memorable about this one to me. 2/5 18 Tectonics ~ Opened Gate This one's okay, but nothing really striking. 2.5/5 19 Healing Light As the name somewhat implies, this one is a relaxing piece for me. I think it's pretty good. 3.5/5 20 Sleeping Forest's Song Short, but soothing. I haven't a clue what this might've played for, though. 3.5/5 21 Morgan's Theme The beginning of this sounds like Alfred Newman's Fox Fanfare theme. I guess it's just the drums. Short track, too. 2/5 22 Short Blessing One of those really short fanfares. 3/5 23 Praise the Vanquished I assume this to be the stage cleared theme. Not much to really say about it, being as short as it is. 3/5 24 Temporary Funeral Attendance The "lost life" theme. Really short; again, not too much to say about it. 2/5 That's my take on it; anyone else have any thoughts? If you don't have it, it can be found on Tappy's FTP, at least. Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]() ![]() |
