Windows blocking 'intrusions'

For some reason when I'm receiving mp3 files on MSN messenger, I cannot open the file because windows is blocking the 'intrusion'. I've turned off all fire walls and I'm not sure what else to do at this point. Please give me some help/advice if you know what's wrong.

Thank you.

A more exact error message would be preferable, xSummonerYUnax. Perhaps it's some sort of MSN Messenger security setting?

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Apparently it’s a new security feature for Messenger 7 which can be removed by running the following reg file: extfix.reg
I've had a look at the file, seems ok but I haven't used it myself so I cannot vouch for its authenticity.

Oh yeah, I've had this. I can't remember the exact MSN message, but it's something about the file being automatically unsafe, so it doesn't bother accepting. "INTERNET? UNSAFE!"

Signing off then back on again usually does the trick.

I was speaking idiomatically.

Yes, it's an annoying problem. The way to work around this, is to simply not open the file through MSN when it's done transferring, but just heading to your "Received Files" directory and open it from there.
