Ever since "Voices of a Distant Star" I've been a huge Makoto fan. I only heard about his most recent piece of work from a screenshot in this thread.

So I heard it's out now and someone was talking about how they saw it already. I demand it torrented and subbed!

Wow, I thought a thread about this was made already since I though Shinkai's works was big hit.

About his new one, wait til it comes out and support him by buying his works, its no fun if you torrent it but hey that's just me.

Well, I only torrent because I can't watch on DVD right away haha. I've always gotten the DVD versions after they have been released though.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I have watched it... and I was WOWed!

Seriously Shinkai has done it again but this time amped up Shinjuku's train station like its newly refurbished + a lot of real looking sceneries. I think my 1600yen ticket was well spent. He should have put all the 3 parts into one full movie and put the credit at the end of the film not for every single part... luckily the credit isn't large XD

Greykin, I think the torrent had been released before WITH the subs... but dunno where yet.

The raw is out but according to the Triad fansub group, they wont sub it unless a much better quality of the movie is released. So they say. Why don't you just watch the raw,grey? ^^;

As for the actualy movie, this is only the first part, but as previously stated the animation is simply amazing, I really can't wait until the HD version is released.

They have posted some corrections to their sub from the *.mkv version... so if you are a perfectionist, go to their website and grab the latest sub.

The one torrented is a MQ version which was released in the Japan-Yahoo Premium Users using streaming technology, however someone (god bless him/her) was able to rip it out.

My friend went to see it today, but this time he managed to buy the special booklet that was on sale in most popular cinemas. Its like a movie guide sorta thing... with pretty pictures and character notes. *sigh* I want a scan of that booklet >_<

Any news about the English release~?

It doesn't play ape files? It plays fine on winamp. I did manage to convert it to mp3 thou (stereo, 192kbps, 44khz). I could prolly convert to a higher quality if needed.

CuteChocobo: the file i uploaded is directly a mp3 file, i guess i should have mentioned that =p you should be able to directly d/l and play it. didn't notice that sendspace cut off the rest of the filename =(

I wonder what this story is about. Any synopsis? I've been a fan of this creator's work since Voices and then Promises (which was awesome), but somehow I wonder if his stories are getting anymore creative along with the widesweeping scenic shots. I'm not dissing them, in fact I love that romantic tension and jaw dropping sky shots, but somehow in the back of my mind I would like to see more dimensions with his skills!

lol, Dattebayo released a sub of this as a prank - under the name of Naruto Shippuuden 5CM v2. It wasn't their work - credits within went to http://www.bikasuishin.org/

I'm glad they posted it though - wouldn't have found out about this otherwise. I'd recognized the style as something I'd seen from various pictures of the Place Promised in Our Early Days, but to see it animated is really something. As of this moment, I'll be waiting for the other 2 episodes to come out - this is GOLD!

Yeah, I don't think that is real. For one, it's not in englsih. It says right in the description below that it is in Vietnamese. Second, there is nothing about it on the web site of the sub group that it is attributed to. They never ever released the first part, so it woud be unlikely for them to relasese the second part.

Also, anidb.net says nothing about part 2 being released yet.

Oh yeah, I saw that Vietnamese subbed one, I'm Vietnamese myself, but I can't read it as well as I should, so I wouldn't be able to understand everything
