Windows Installer doesn't work
I've been trying to fix this problem for a while, and I've tried many different methods. But I just can't get it to work. Whenever I try to install a program that uses Windows Installer for the installation process, I just get an error message telling me that the service couldn't be used. I'm considering to format my PC if nothing can fix this, but I'd rather have it fixed in another way. So any help is appreciated.
Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]() |

![]() Okay, this is not an actual image from my computer, as I run my Windows XP in Swedish, but anyways, the error message is just like this one (except in Swedish :P). I'm not running it in safe mode, and I've tried to reinstall Windows Installer from Microsofts web page, but it still doesn't work. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. ![]() |

Go Start --> Run--> type in services.msc and report back on its status.

Sounds like a service got messed up.
I am unclear if you can just reinstall the service. Usually, you need to repair a Windows Installation. I was speaking idiomatically. |
